Chapter Ten 

'Run!, He's gonna catch you!!' I yelled at Rory as she tried to outrun Eddie on the sand. Everyone was laughing and having fun. Sammy was sat with me, eating, but Ror wanted to play, I was a little tired, so, Eddie said he would play with her for a bit.

'So, You and your daddy pretty close?' I asked her, she looked up and smiled widely that melted my heart.

'Yeah! He's the best'. I Awwww'ed her.

'Would you like ice-cream?' She nodded and I stood up, pulling her to her feet. Eddie and Rory were busy playing so, We just left and headed to the shops. 'What one do you want?'.

'Mint!!! Mint!!!' I smiled and we went into the shop, As we went in, I bumped into someone.

'Sorry'. They didn't say anything, they didn't even turn around. 'Well, don't worry about it. God!'. Shaking it off, I went up to the counter and ordered 4 ice-creams for everyone and went back to the beach. Rory was still running around with Eddie chasing her.

'Megan?' I looked down at the little girl.

'Yeah, honey?'

'Are you gonna be my new mommy?' I was shocked. What the hell could I say? luckily, Eddie called for Sammy and she ran over to him, saving me from answering her question.

'Hey, Meg, You ok?' I nodded and passed him his ice-cream. He licked it and looked at me again, in a weird way. 'Hey, you sure?'

'Eddie, Sammy just asked if I was her new mommy'. He sighed and shock his head.

'I'm so sorry about that'. I smiled at him.

'Don't worry, I just didn't know how to answer her that's all. Why would she even think that?' He looked away embarrassed.

'She must have heard me and my friends talking last night'. He admitted shyly. 'I mentioned you and my friend, Jack, made a joke saying I had found a new mommy for Sammy.' I smiled.

'Sweet. but I think you might need to her about it.' He nodded.

'Hey, would you like to come out with me? Tomorrow night?' He asked. I just looked at him. 'Like, Only to dinner or something. Totally innocent. Like as if you would with your girl-friends. Were friends right?' I thought about it.

'Yeah, I guess. We both know our limit so, sure' He smiled and then a thunder bolt came down from the sky. Weird timing. Like, something ad was gonna happen, or maybe it was just me being stupid. Oh well.
