I was pacing in the front office while Jane typed away on the computer. In my hand were the forms Jericho had completed for Max's early release appeal. I had gone over it at least five times already and everything looked fine, but I wanted to be extra sure. "I'm sure it's going to be fine, Indigo," Jane said with a sigh. "I know. But you know how these things go. I'm just worried, what if we're rushing this and getting his hopes up only for them to be crushed again? That will set him back so much emotionally." "Indigo, maybe you should hand this one over to Suzie? You're a bit too emotionally invested in this yourself." I paused, looking over at her, "Jane, I just want him to have a real shot at life." "And we're going to pretend that you don't have any any feelings involved at all?
