Chapter 6

1976 Words

I plop down on my new bed, arms stretched wide and legs dangling at the edge as I stare at the ceiling fan above me. Outside, I can hear the chirping of birds coming through the small window. The sky is a hue of gray, telling me that the sun will already reveal its morning glory in a minute. Rowan, the police officer, was the first to descend downstairs. While he didn't talk to me, he flashed me a smile in his police uniform. Since I can't talk to them (unless I'm required to), I only smiled back and bowed my head a little while I pulled a seat out for him at their long dining table. Their dining room gives off a Victorian era vibe due to its old-fashioned design, which I really love. Rowan, though he looks intimidating in his uniform, has an aura of someone I can easily get along with. T
