I had seen the attraction in Daniel's eyes for Evangeline on day one, and I should have understood that already but this fact didn't ring a bell that she could be his f*****g mate.

I should have already guessed by observing her effect of her on Daniel. Not to forget Danieal's instant liking toward a stranger.
