A sun and a sunset

If Camille had not been the little daughter of the Smith family, she would not have been so patient at that moment. Finally she was able to say many offences. —I... I... — Camille was frightened and overwhelmed. Nick was her brother, but since she had left for boarding school, this was the first time they had seen each other. Camille always thought Nick would be nice to her, after all she was his only sister. But Camille was wrong. She was supposed to be his family! But Alanna had ruined everything. Alanna was complete rubbish! Camille still didn't believe that Alanna was Nick's wife. Anyway, even if it was true, Alanna was still an outsider. Whereas she was the daughter of the family. Camille had much more influence than Alanna. Each of the tables was numbered, and each guest was seated according to their assigned number. That table was specifically for her, but Nick ordered her to another table with Lucas. —I'm sorry, it's my fault. I'd be happy to go to another one, but I think they're all taken,— Camille said with that in mind. Hearing that, Nick smiled sarcastically and sighed as he pointed to a particle table. —Table number 34 is empty, go— said Nick. —Table 34? — repeated Camille in surprise. It was the last table, next to the bathroom door. It was normally the table where the lower-ranking people were. Her own brother had sent her to the outcast table! —I can't... I ....— said Camille in her defense. —You don't want to go there? It's okay,— said Nick. —Thanks bro, I...— Camille added before being interrupted again. —If you don't go to table number 34, get the hell out of here. You and your new boyfriend aren't welcome here anyway— Nick mentioned coldly. Everyone was stunned to hear that. They didn't even want to utter a sound. It was impressive among the Smith family. Camille's expression changed drastically. She felt embarrassed. She could feel everyone's eyes on her. She was so wrong about Nick! How could her brother do that to her? Her tears suddenly welled up in her eyes. She wanted Nick to see her and she took back her words. —I'm so sorry brother...I'm not...— she said through her tears. Despite those words, Nick didn't react in any way. He just called security and before Camille had finished speaking they had arrived. —Miss, please come with us,— said one of the guards. Camille felt her dignity go down the drain. She lowered her face and covered herself with a blanket to leave the place. But, just as she was about to leave, Alanna turned her gaze to her back —Camille, wait—. Camille looked at Alanna again with intrigue. Camille wanted to tease her, but since Nick was standing next to her, she restrained herself. When Camille stopped, Alanna approached her and smiled disdainfully. —you said I'd get fired from my job and be out on the street, didn't you? Now I'll show you what I'm capable of— Alanna added proudly. After that, before Camille could react, Alanna spoke again arrogantly. —...i just want you to know that i'm not an i***t and i know you never wanted to be my friend— said Alanna firmly. Alanna wasn't wrong at all. Camille just frowned and hurried out of there with her face covered. Lucas nodded humbly and went after Camille. All the guests were truly stunned for a few moments. They all turned and murmured about what had just happened. They looked with intrigue at Alanna's proud face. She was strong! She deserved to be the woman Nick Smith had fallen in love with. The Smith family hadn't reported Camille's return until that night, by which time everyone seemed to have noticed. Nick, for his part, didn't blame Alanna for her harsh words to Camille, instead he simply walked up to her and kissed her cheek. —Are you all right?— he asked intrigued. His words erased all her anger. —I'm fine— she said curiously. People understood perfectly what was going on there, and got up from their seats to congratulate Nick on his marriage. —Mr. Smith, congratulations. We didn't expect to meet your wife today. Congratulations!— hinted one of the wealthy men in the room. —Thank you very much Mr. Bruce, Miss Smith is very nice,— replied Nick. —I see you have found a great treasure. I hope you will last many years together— added Mr. Bruce. Everyone was complimenting Nick and his new wife. Alanna was stunned. She had not expected it that night. She felt like she was on cloud nine. That night Alanna had gone from being the ugly, depressed duckling to a lovely white swan. She expected the young women waiting for Nick to treat her with contempt, but they didn't. Contrary to those expectations, the girls approached Alanna and started chatting with her. Alanna continued to lie and pretend that she had a dream marriage. Shortly after dinner, Nick got up and disappeared. Alanna never saw him again and decided to leave. Nick's support was enough for one night. Alanna was internally destroyed, and didn't trust men no matter what. She didn't want to get her heart broken again, so she didn't get her hopes up and left. Alanna took a taxi and went home. It was a small rented flat. She walked in dejectedly and turned on the light. As she was about to close the door, a foot suddenly moved around the corner of the door. Alanna looked up in intrigue and saw Lucas standing there. Before she could react, Lucas had pushed open the door and forced his way into the house. He looked at her firmly and reached out to grab her by the throat and press her against the wall. —You're a b***h! Since when do you sleep with Nick? Do you want to steal his money? I really underestimated you,— Lucas said fiercely. Alanna stood against the wall, shocked by the violence with which Lucas was pressing her. Her face paled, but she tried not to lose her sanity. —What are you talking about? Are you describing yourself, or are you forgetting? You're the poor guy who got his money by sleeping with me, aren't you? — At that, Lucas pressed his fingers even tighter against Alanna's neck. His reddened eyes looked like those of a hungry, angry wolf. The woman in front of him grew smarter and more beautiful than he remembered. It was obvious, Alanna and Camille were two totally different women. Camille was beautiful, but with a heavy attitude, while Alanna not only possessed an unusual beauty, but had delicate features and an enchanting aura. Alanna was like that orange sunset on the beach, while for Camille she was the blazing midday sun. Lucas knew perfectly well that Alanna was beautiful, but she had lost all her money. She could not help him anymore. However, Lucas wasn't about to let the woman who had once been with him go into the arms of another man. The worst thing was that that man was Nick Smith, a man a thousand times better than him. —What did you do to make Nick sleep with you? Do you think I'd love a stupid, miserable woman like you? Or do you just want to stop me from marrying Camille?— said Lucas A sneer appeared on Lucas' lips as he saw Alanna smiling charmingly. Lucas frowned and felt even more helpless. Lucas loosened his grip and was very surprised. Alanna took advantage and pulled Lucas' hand away from her neck, and she could finally breathe. —I advise you not to be so greedy. I'm no longer the sweet woman you know, I'm Nick Smith's wife now. You wouldn't want him to know what you're about to do, would you?— Alanna looked at Lucas with pride. —Shut up b***h! I don't care what you do with Nick, but you can be sure that a man like him will never feel love for you. How miserable you are!— Lucas couldn't even dare to offend Nick. He could only say cruel and strong things against her.
