29. It’s inevitable

1262 Words

DEVONS POV As soon as I entered my house, the mask of indifference I’d worn at dinner shattered. I had managed to use my training to school my emotions, but it had been taxing. I could no longer hide the jealousy and anger I felt watching some fucker give my Princess flowers. My blood was boiling, and I wanted answers. More than that, I wanted to taste that fucker’s blood. I was surprised she couldn't feel my emotions like I felt hers, even if it was just a fraction. She's so focused on herself that she doesn't even notice. My little sister wasn’t helping with her commentary either. After Win excused herself, she kept gushing about how lucky Win was to have such a handsome admirer. How could he be her chosen if she would just let herself move on. “I’d kill him before that ever happened.”
