Bea’s POV
As the car carried us further away from the pack, I couldn't help but feel a mix of emotions swirling inside me. The weight of my decision to leave behind everything I had known for a chance at a new beginning with Marcus tugged at my heart. The road ahead was uncertain, but the sense of liberation and possibility that filled the air around us was undeniable.
Marcus's eyes met mine, and I could see the warmth and reassurance in his gaze. His hand reached for mine, a silent gesture of support that spoke volumes. "Are you okay, Bea? This is a new chapter for both of us, but you don't have to face it alone. I'm here for you every step of the way. I'm not going to let you down. That's a promise.”
I turned to him, feeling a rush of gratitude and determination. "I am okay, Marcus. This journey, this moment, feels like a chance to break free from everything that held me back. With you, I can finally be true to myself and embrace the future with open arms. It is a blessing to be out of there, and I'm still trying to get my head around that I will never have to face them again.”
Marcus beamed, his eyes filled with understanding and affection. "I believe in you, Bea. Your strength and resilience drew me to you in the first place. Together, we can conquer whatever challenges come our way. The moon goddess certainly blessed me with a beautiful mate that's for sure. Besides, this is our new beginning, Bea," Marcus said softly, “You are going to see how it feels to be loved and protected. I don’t know exactly what you have been through so far, but I can promise you that it will be nothing but goodness from now on and forth. My beautiful future, Luna. I can’t even believe I’m saying that.” He choked back emotional tears, and I couldn’t help but smile at him even more. It meant the world to me to have such a kind and caring man save me from the nightmare my life had been since as far back as I could ever remember.
The beta sisters would never be able to tease nor taunt me again, and they would never be able to make my life hell, knowing that was like a breath of fresh air.
"Thank you, Marcus. This is beyond anything I could have ever imagined. This happiness, this freedom, it's all because of you. I’m forever going to be grateful.” I told him, and he pulled me into a tender embrace, his arms wrapping around me as if he never wanted to let go. "You deserve this, Bea. I promise to always stand by you, support you, and love you unconditionally. Our journey together is just beginning. My pack will love and adore you. We all will.”
As the car approached the entrance to Marcus's pack territory, my heart began racing with excitement and nervousness. The sprawling forest surrounding us seemed to pulse with energy, a living, breathing entity that welcomed us into its embrace.
As we drove deeper into the heart of the pack's territory, the landscape transformed into a lush paradise of towering trees, glistening streams, and a sense of tranquillity that filled the air. The scent of pine and earth mingled with the crisp breeze, promising new beginnings and endless possibilities.
As the car finally stopped in front of the pack's main grounds, I could feel the eyes of the pack members on me, their curiosity and interest palpable in the air. Finally stepping out of the car, I straightened my posture and took a deep breath, steeling myself for this momentous occasion.
“I’ve got you, my Bea. Come with me.” Marcus took my hand in a reassuring grip, his presence at my side giving me the strength to face this new chapter in my life. With a warm smile, he led me towards the heart of the pack, where the Alpha's house stood as a symbol of power and authority.
As we approached, I could feel the weight of their collective gaze on me, assessing me with a mix of curiosity and appraisal. And then, as we entered the Alpha's house, the room fell silent, every eye trained on me as I stood before them, a stranger in their midst.
But instead of feeling overwhelmed or intimidated, I felt a strong sense of belonging. The pack members, Marcus's family, welcomed me with open arms warm and genuine smiles.
“Marcus, my beloved son, and you have returned company with you. How pleased I am to see such a thing happening before me.” An excited voice shrilled from across the room. I looked up to see a woman rushing towards us.
"Mother, this is Bea.” Marcus introduced me, his voice filled with pride and affection.
His mother's gaze swept over me, assessing me with a keen eye that seemed to see right through me. But instead of feeling intimidated, I stood tall, meeting her gaze with determination and respect.
"It's a pleasure to meet you, Bea. You can call me Sandra,” she said, extending a hand towards me, her smile warm and welcoming.
I took her hand in mine, feeling the strength and wisdom that emanated from her touch, a silent understanding passing between us at that moment. She already knew she wanted me here, and I belonged here. It was indeed such a significant upgrade from my old pack. This only ever happened in my dreams or fairytales and yet here I was having it happen to me for real. I was so excited.
“Thank you for being so welcoming. I am a little nervous to be here and meet new people. I hope we can all get along; thank you again.” I replied with a cheerful look on my face. “You have no idea how grateful I am.”
His mother turned to Marcus and gave him a nod of approval. “I like her already, son,” she announced.
