"Elijah!" I gasped. I don't know how I'll ever get through to him that it was all a lie. "Mommy!" Imogen peeked out from behind the wall, her teary eyes visible.
"Kids, that's not true. You know how much mommy cares for you and would never want to hurt you, right?" I tried to approach my babies, but Susie, the royal beta of Kage, stopped me in my tracks.
"I don't think the kids are safe around her," she said. I couldn't understand how she could say that when I've kept them well-fed and secure all these years. These people were biased. They never accepted me back in the werewolf land. They only wanted to find an excuse to build a case against me.
"You know what?" I scoffed, freeing my arm from her grasp and addressing everyone, "I'm done here. I'm leaving with my kids."
