Chapter 1

Briiinnngggg...

When the last bell of the period ringing, I release a relief breathe to know that school is finally over before grabbing my stuff and walk out of the room.

"Hi Kiera" My friend Alora speaks while leaning beside my locker with a smirking plaster on her face "You really join me, right?" She asked me a hundred times today which get a rolling eye in return.

I slam my locker before the turn to her in annoyance "I already said okay, jeez" I exclaim and saw her just grin before put her long arm on my shoulder. Alora is my best friend, she asked, no, more like a demand that I join her to go to the Diner's Cafe today since she wants to introduce me to his new target for the month.

She's what I called a girl with a killer body, with 5'7 height and long legs, she sure knows how to use her sexiness for her benefit, if only I could act that confident.

I am what you called an ordinary girl, with beautiful blond hair which is the only thing that I love about me, I have green eyes and an awkward person in front of people who I didn't know or close, so you can imagine being me in a crowd, I will turn into a person who stands in the corner without saying anything.

But I can't say no to my best friend, so walking to the parking area to her car, she starts speaking about this handsome guy we'll meet there, Paul who will be there after he did his Football training.

Alora easy-going attitude spread like a virus, she's the one who could turn me from my awkward person into easy going because I feel comfortable around her.

We arrived at the diner and looks like they already there from Alora's reaction, so I follow her by the walkout of her car and get inside.

The guy, who I thought is Paul himself, turns his head toward us when we walking like we're here just for hanging out together, not for the guy, it's Alora's specialty, she could be an actress because she's that good.

We walk to the cashier to order our food and pretend to laugh at something she said without glancing at him and I can tell that it frustrates him.

I try to not give a triumph smile when Paul lean on the table beside the cashier with a smile after we order our food and see him give money to pay for us.

Yum, free food!!

"Hi, Alora... and friend?" He greets us with a breathtaking smile which makes me smile in return toward the guy. I admit he is handsome with blonde hair and a muscle that I know was one of his assets that my friend here loves so much from the guy.

He's wearing a tight black shirt which shows his muscle and jeans.

"Paul" I saw Alora smile at him before hugging him in a friendly way, even though I know it killed her to not be able to kiss the guy but I didn't dare to open my mouth and make any comment to embarrassed her so I just stood silently like a good friend I before watch her turn her gaze toward me "This is my friend, Kiera, I hope you don't mind since we always hanging out after school together so I can't leave her" She lied easily.

Hanging out my ass, I comment amusingly in my mind before giving him a wave with a smile "Hiya there, Paul" I greet him warmly.

"Hello, pretty" He nodded his head in acknowledging me "So, you guys want to join me and my friend there?" He asked while pointing to his friend who spread in the corner watching us in interest with a polite smile plaster on their faces.

Alora pretends to ask me who give him a shrug before we both walking to where his friends sat with him carry our food.

This is an unusual scene for me, but with her around this is what we used to do when she's finding a guy she likes, so I already get used to her ways to get to those guys.

At least, I'll get myself new friends since I'm one awkward person so it would be a miracle for me to make a friend by myself so at least I'll thank Alora for that.

Shockingly Paul is a good guy who at least not too cocky even though I find out he's the Football captain in the Maria West-school and I find myself getting comfortable hanging with him and his friend who welcomed us in warm acts.

It's almost 6 PM when we decide to end our conversation and I wave my hand to bid goodbye to everyone and turn my gaze back to my friend who watches me in concern.

"you sure you're okay going back home alone?" She asked me for the third times since she's going to go out for a movie with Paul who didn't bring his car since he's coming here with his friend's car so being the good friend I am, I assure her that I could just use a bus to get me back home.

I standing beside the red light, waiting for it to turn before the walk to the bus stop across the road.

Alora insists that she'll go to watch me until I ride the bus, you see, I had an accident once, a drunk man attacked me while I'm walking to her house, Alora who known as impatient girl decide to come and get me only to arrived at the perfect time when she saw a drunk man hit me and drag me forcefully into the dark alley two blocks from her house, she quickly grabs a big log then hit the man in his head and make him unconscious then take me away from the danger to her house where she told her parent about the accident. The adult in her house decides to call the police before they check the place only to found him still lay unconsciously on the ground.

Let say since then she's getting more protective in a sister ways toward me, she knows I am a shy person if I'm uncomfortable around people, that's why she keeps asking me to hang out with her after school.

I give her waves while waiting for the red light, she gives me another wave in return while I watch her talking happily to the guy beside her.

Sometimes I envy her, she has everything that I didn't have, confidence.

Living sheltered for my whole life make me become a shy person when meeting new people. 

You see, I'm the youngest after two twin brother who is very protective of me because of my busy parents who both works as a lawyer didn't have time for their children. So my brother, Chris, and Nick who is eight years older than me decide to be the guardian since they saw me born into the world and I'm proud to call them my brother.

Last week is my 18th birthday and since my brothers have important works, we decide to do something this weekend when they'll be here at my parent's house.

Graduation is nearer and I already made my mind to go to medical school to be a doctor, you see having two brothers had its advantage, Nick used to be a street fighter so several times I found him in pain for bruises and wound that leave me to pamper him, that's where I found that I want to help people by being a doctor.

My parents thought it's a long way and an exhausting way to get myself having money but unlike then, I want to be a doctor not to get myself rich but more to help them, the feel when knowing someone cherish you for what you did is more than the money itself because I learn that money couldn't give me everything, I didn't get the attention I want from my parents even though we have more money for everyone.

Beep.. Beep.. Beep... Beep...

When the red lights turn, I start walking across the road with my mind flying around.

One time I remember walking, the next thing I heard the sound of the explosion to see something blow from the car beside me.

Too close to the source of the explosion, I know I can't avoid the effect so I just do something in reflex when I felt myself being thrown back a couple of meter from the place, I close my eyes and put my hands in front of my face as a shield.

"KIIEEERRAAA....!!!!" I heard my friend, Alora shout-out in panic when it happened.

Alora watch in fear there's an explosion come from the street where her friend walks across the road.

She abruptly jumps on her feet to run to search for her best friend, Kiera.

Oh God, please let her be okay, she chants in her mind while running to the scene only to get more surprised when she found her nowhere to be seen.

"KIIEERRAAA..!!!!" She screams in agony, fear for her well-being.

Paul arrived beside her and put his hand on her back while looking around, also try to find a blond hair which almost white in a girl who is Alora's best friend that he just meet today and find her is a good girl who could become his friend too since he's going to make Alora his girlfriend.

Everyone looks shocked after the strange explosion in a car and more police come to help the victim, but where is Kiera?

Alora search everywhere but found no one around, not even her friend, Kiera.

Where is she? She thought in a panic until she decides to pull out her phone and called two-person who she knows will be worried after they find out what happen with their sister.

"KKIIEERRRAAA, WHERE ARE YOUU..??!!!" She screams in desperation before fall on her knees with her iPhone on her right ear.

'Alora? What's going on? Why you called me?'  She heard one of her best friend's brother answer and can't help herself but sobbed more before she finally tells them what happens here, hoping that Kiera is okay and is inside one of the Ambulance.

Oh God, if only I didn't drag her here, she'll be fine now.

I'm sorry, Kiera.. I'm sorry!!

A week had passed and no one sees or found Kiera.

One thing they found only her bags with her belongings still inside.

For the first time, Kiera's parents didn't go to their office for the whole week, staying in their house mourning their only daughter who could be dead in pieces because of the explosion.

The cause isn't come from the car but from the leak of the gas pipe under which involve a huge explosion on the street that day.

Nick and Chris never leave their sister's room since they bury one thing they could find about her, as a symbol that she's lay in peace there even though there's no body inside.

It hit Alora the most, her easy-going personality change and make her a quiet person because of the guilt for thinking that it's her fault that she loses her friend for just a stupid crush.

When people come to the Winters mansion to show their condolence everyone couldn't take their gaze to the picture of a beautiful girl in the center, unlike what Kiera thought about herself, she's one pretty girl with good behavior unlike their trouble make bothers.

Her parents can't say how sorry they are for always busy and didn't have time for her, Elena Winters can't stop crying regret for not having more mother-daughter time with her Kiera and now when it's too late, she couldn't say how sorry she is for thinking that work is more important than her family.

Now, she can't turn back time, she loses Kiera forever...

No one could say anything to cheer the whole family because they know how horrible her death especially when they couldn't find her body which means she blows into pieces.

An old mustang 78 is a park in the garage still with a huge ribbon was supposedly a special gift that Nick and Chris will give her as her birthday gift on their dinner next Saturday, but now staring at it only give more pain in their heart.

Why this is happening to her? Nick thought in sadness.

She's only a child who never knows what is the world...

She's the amazing sister that he could have, but now she's gone.
