Chapter 4 Sol blinked. He took a step back. Then he shook his head at me. “I have at least another week.” I barely resisted the urge to grin. He was so confused, I could see that clearly. But if he could observe what I did, he’d know. Not just the rosettes, which was a sure sign, but the way he smelled. His behavior. Everything about him. He needed me, and he wanted me safe. There was only one reason for that. “It’s okay, Sol.” I kept my voice soft, then undid the clasps of his jacket. He let me, and I slipped it from his shoulders.
