Mjolner led us past the well to the road to the southern part of town.
"I was just down here," I said to Thorbjorn.
"Were you?"
"Loke was showing me the gardens," I said. "Mjolner wasn't with us, or I guess he could've shown me whatever he wanted me to see then."
"To you and Loke?" he asked. There was something strange about his tone. Like he was trying too hard to sound like this was only a casual interest.
"What does that mean?" I asked.
"You've been spending a lot of time with Loke, that's all I'm saying," he said.
"I think it's more like he's been spending a lot of time with me," I said. "And in the end, he wasn't much help."
