Chapter 11

2728 Words

Chapter 11 I had to half-jog to keep up with my grandmother, who I was learning was a bit of a fast walker. Mjolner made a little sound of protest in my arms but didn't try to squirm away. "Did they tell you who Lisa was seeing here?" I asked when I had reached her side. "You could've just asked me that," Loke said from where he was trailing along behind us, hands in his pockets. "Saved yourself a trip to the council. Not that that isn't always fun." "Hush, you," Thorbjorn said from where he was walking beside him. "We went to the council first as a courtesy." "And how did that work out for you?" Loke asked. Thorbjorn said nothing, but his stony silence was answer enough. "Did you?" I asked my grandmother again. "Yes, actually," my grandmother said. "It wasn't who I was expecting."
