MURTAGH'S POV   The day of Christmas Eve started very well, went on wonderfully and ended in tragedy. I could not get out of my mind the dirty and emotionless faces of those children - children who had just lost everything. My heart felt heavy and swollen with pain, worry, and anger. Pain for those children, concern for Katherine and my mother, who were moving even though they knew they were under fire from the rogues, and anger at those cursed mutts. They had snatched everything they had from those children, even at Christmas. That day would never be the same again for them; it would have been the anniversary of the death of their parents, grandparents, uncles, brothers, friends.
