Turns out, Katherine literally loved my car.
As soon as she had seen the black SUV my parents had given me for my last birthday, her eyes had gone so wide in awe that I thought they might just roll out of her head.
I could see that she wanted to jump and scream and shower me in questions about it - but in the end, she just clenched her mouth and muttered a 'nice car', making my heart ache in guilt.
I had hurt her and shoved her off, to the point she wouldn't even express her feelings the way she wanted around me.
I felt so bad that I had decided to start making amends to my behavior, and therefore I'd promised her that I would have let her drive it on our way back to the pack house, when we'd have come back.
Her soft and grateful smile had warmed my heart in a way
