KATHERINE’S POV   I stared at the witch, silent. I was sure as hell she would burst out laughing, but instead she stayed there, sitting in her booth, calmly staring at me, completely unbothered. I thought about her offer: she had asked me if I wanted to know my future. In books and movies, knowing one's future never translated into anything positive for the hero. He (or she) would usually despair about the horrible things and deaths looming over his life and, in a fair share of stories, ended up mad. And I was kind of sure that losing my mind wasn’t something I’d ever sign up for. I really liked my mind, and I intended to keep it as long as possible.  But still, I wasn’t in a book, or a movie. I was in a diner in Minnesota. And the witch didn’t look like the Hansel and Grethel one –
