- MURTAGH’S POV –
A curse.
My mouth went dry as soon as those words left Maya’s lips and I looked over at Kate.
She looked absolutely devastated. She wasn’t crying, but the helpless expression on her face and her slouched shoulders were enough to break my heart. I pulled her into a hug and she sighed, resting her head on my chest.
“Is there something you can do to fix it?” I asked.
Like hell I was going to allow that Norena witch to snatch my mate away from me. Not when I’d just found her. Kate meant the world to me, and I wasn’t letting her go.
Maya, luckily, nodded. “First thing first, we need to make sure that there’s actually dark magic within her” she said. “It’s a very easy procedure. Our future steps, however, will depend on its outcome”.
