Chapter Twenty Delilah I turned along the road that led to the airport, feeling a little sick inside. I’d tried to make this morning normal. We had coffee, and I made omelets for breakfast. Alex insisted on helping me clean up, which annoyed me. He’d returned his rental car two days ago after I insisted I could take him to the airport. I was now regretting that choice because I felt like a foolish girl. I was going to miss him, and this impending goodbye was bearing down on me at warp speed. I wasn’t ready to take the hit.
