Everyone's eyes were on the teacher. Everyone watched as she piled the test papers on her desks and picked a red pen. Everyone waited with abated breaths while her red pen hovered and moved through each of the papers. "Well," she sighed, releasing the pen and lifting her head. "Everyone passed." Jubilant shouts filled the room. The stern teacher cracked a smile. She stood up and headed to the door, the papers in the crook of her arm. "Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, class," she called over her shoulder before she left. The shouts grew excited and louder. I breathed out a relieved sigh and let myself smile as I watched my classmates celebrate. Everyone was discussing their plans over the break. I leaned back in my chair and closed my eyes. Thank God, I passed. I wouldn't h
