Jessica sat at her desk working. It was late into the night and she was exhausted. She had only taken a break when Mark called to tell her how the meeting with the counselor went. She warmed up a bowl of soup while they talked, then went right back to work. This was her first big presentation to the pack and she wanted to make sure her numbers were correct and she was prepared for questions. As her eyes started to droop, she decided to make a cup of coffee. She only needed another hour or so and then she would be ready for bed. “Ugh. I need sleep too. I don’t need bags under my eyes either,” she fussed at herself. She stood at the kitchen counter stirring her cup when a sudden chill ran up her spine. An eerie feeling settled over her.
