Forty-five minutes later they sat in the New Venus Café. Due to the unusually warm spring weather the large doors were open onto 8th Avenue. Seth and Mack were just inside those doors. Encouraged by the atmosphere of acceptance Seth observed around them, he reached across the table and took both Mack’s hands in his. “This turned out better than I’d hoped,” Seth said, smiling into Mack’s eyes. “I’m a happy man.” “What did you expect?” Mack asked. “I wasn’t sure. I hoped ya still felt some a what we had back in Montana.” Mack smiled. He did feel what he had felt back then. Where it would go, how it would end up, he wasn’t sure. But right now he, too, was a happy man. “What do ya wanna do ta night?” Seth asked. Mack laughed. “You’re the one with all the plans. What do ya want ta do?”
