Chapter 14At the church, everyone sat to listen to Hallbjörn. Despite the grim situation, Sébastien smiled to see how close Luc sat to Henri, Kirkegrim sat on Sébastien’s other side, and Nereus and Mahes sat opposite Hallbjörn.
“I don’t believe we should try and best our enemy when in the catacombs. I want to entice him into being outside.” Hallbjörn looked around the gathered group, his gaze falling on Sébastien last of all. “I believe it’s safer not to challenge the beast in its lair, so to speak.”
“What then?” Mahes asked.
“I want Luc to have two teams of men.” Hallbjörn looked directly at the musketeer. “One whose names he may give to Richelieu, the other to be hand-picked men with the help of the queen, of which Richelieu has no knowledge. I don’t trust the man, and he’s threatened
