IRENE'S POV I adjusted my hair in the car and my hands shook slightly, betraying the storm brewing inside me. I took a deep breath, trying to calm the frantic beating of my heart. I needed to appear composed, unruffled, even though Leon’s closeness had left me feeling anything but that. Once I was satisfied with my appearance, I turned to him. “Where are we?” I asked casually trying to mask my curiosity. Leon only winked at me, a playful, mysterious smile tugging at the corners of his lips. “You’ll see,” he said in a teasing manner as if he enjoyed keeping me in suspense.
