CHAPTER 20

THADDEUS I was Doomed, I was Ruined, And equally screwed Right now. My wolf wouldn't stop begging to be let out and I was struggling to keep him inside. he was being insistent with his whining and pawing at the door made it nearly impossible to ignore his demands for freedom. ‘You can't act this way, you have to calm down right now!’ I growled at him. ‘Go to Mate! Mark mate! Claim mate! Mate is ours!’ ‘She is not ours alone to claim,’ I told him. My breathing became harsh as my wolf got stronger with every moment that passed. The scent of her was making his urge and desire to be a lot more stronger. My fingers gripped the edge of the desk tightly causing my knuckles to instantly turn white. A loud roar escaped me as my wolf started to emerge. Shit. ‘Stay the f**k down! You are not allowed to come out.’ ‘Mate! Go to mate now!” He growled back in my head. He obviously didn't care about anyone or anything except for Hazel right now. He didn't care if she was mated to two or ten of us, he just wanted her right now, which was somewhat good and somewhat bad. The good news was that I could convince him to calm down by using Hazel as bait, and the bad news is that he could kill and injure anybody who gets in his way right now. ‘Trust me, you would only end up scaring her. She would reject us and wouldn't want us.’ He instantly quieted down immediately to think over what I had just said, but he didn't seem to back down. ‘Did that scent mate reject us?’ It took me a second to figure out what he meant considering his grammar had literally gotten worse as he became more primitive. ‘Yes, she would reject us and won't want us if you're like this.’ I mentally prayed to the Moon goddess that he would gradually back down slightly. If he didn't, there was no way I could leave this room without hurting someone. There was only a tiny bit of something I could do to control him, and it wouldn't even last for too long. Suddenly, there was a knock on the door and that made my wolf start up his ruckus again. I felt my claws and fangs emerge as my body started to surrender to my wolf. “Thaddeus! Open the f*****g door!” Thea yelled from the other side of the door. My claws dug into the wood of my desk, leaving deep scratches. I fell to my knees, letting out small growls through my panting. My wolf completely blocked me out of his mind as he continued his attempts to take over completely. There was a loud thud from the other side of the door, and another before the door eventually came off its hinges and landed on the ground with a loud bang. “f**k, Thaddeus. You can't stay here,” Thea snapped, trying to come closer to me but I let out a loud roar and flashed my fangs. He froze in his tracks and stared at me worriedly. A minute later, Sparrow rushed into the room and took in the scene in front of him. ‘I wasn't even surprised that Sparrow seemed not highly affected like I was, he on the other hand knew how to control his wolf and his desire.’ “He is losing control, Thea. We have to get him out of this house,” he said, coming closer to me with his hands up to show that he meant no harm. My wolf watched him closely, ready to snap at him if he even stepped in the wrong spot. He stretched his hands out, and my eyes darted down to see a small piece of clothing in his hands. “It’s Hazel’s. Her natural scent should calm your wolf down.” He explained gently, trying to get me to take the clothes. “How about we just smother him with it?” My head instantly snapped to Thea, and I let out a warning growl which made him step back nervously. “Look at me Thaddeus, you have to ignore Thea. Just take the clothes and sniff it. It for our Mates,” Sparrow coxed, watching my reaction carefully. I took the clothes with one claw and held it up to my nose slowly. The distinct scent of Hazel filled my senses, making my tense form to relax slightly. “You have to sniff it even more, Thaddeus. Go ahead.” My wolf moved forward and sniffed it, before letting out a satisfied growl. “Why don't we go downstairs and take a nice run in the woods,” Sparrow said, reaching forward to grip my forearm and pull me up. I continued to hold the cloth to my nose because it seemed to be the only thing calming my wolf down immensely, and he even let me back into his mind. Good sign. ‘I want mate right now. We need to mark mate. Too many males want her, we need to claim her now, you f*****g idiot.’ my wolf whines even more. ‘We are not marking her without her consent. I don't care how hard it is for you. We are going to wait or else we will hurt her, do you hear me?’ My wolf stayed quite, letting me know that he was not happy about my decision but was willing to listen for Hazel’s sake. “Miranda,” Sparrow called as we made our way down the corridor. Miranda was rushing up the stairs to Hazel’s room when she stopped to look at us. Her eyes widened at my appearance, and she shook her head tiredly. “You guys have to make sure you stay outside, especially away from Hazel room.” “That is not an option,” I snapped angrily. “My wolf is ready to mark her at first sight. If anything, I will sleep in a tent at the enemies den just to be far away from her or I'll sleep under a bridge, anywhere but not close to her." A rumble vibrated from my chest as I spoke, causing the three of them to tense. “Thaddeus, you need to calm down. I think Miranda is just concerned about Hazel. We all know that Hazel needs you both right now but you're in no state of mind to be with her. You don't understand how much more pain she is in,” The door to Hazel’s room creaked open, and a stricken Kara emerged. Her face was pale, her eyes wide with worry. “We’ve got a problem,” she gasped, her voice barely a whisper. “Hazel can’t stop throwing up. We need to get the pack doctor, now. her condition is starting to freak me out.. My heart pounded in my chest, and I frantically pressed the cloth to my nose, desperate to quell the beast within. “On second thought, I think you guys should stay,” Thea muttered, his face twisting in disgust as a high-pitched whimper pierced the air from Hazel’s room. Kara, grimacing, retreated back inside, the sound of Hazel gagging echoing down the hallway. In a desperate act, I bit down on my bottom lip, my fang shattering against my lip, causing a crimson stain to bloom across my teeth. I was torn on what to do. We could either risk her safety and stay in her room so our wolves can calm her down or we could leave the house and let her suffer on her own so that my own wolf could calm down. ‘fuvk, what was I going to do?’
