Ashe was as stretched as a violin string.
She hadn't said anything to me all the way in the car to the airport and not even now that we were waiting for the airplane in the VIP lounge. I could understand it, maybe I too would have been tense in that situation if I had had a normal family. She had a little diary that she kept writing down and crossing out things.
