Only Sophie, Ethan, and Rachel wouldn’t be at the event tonight—three fewer people I would have to worry about. It was bloody cold when I got out of the limousine and took my father's arm. It was always like this when we showed up at events, my dad holding mom on his left and me on his right. He did it even when I was little. Sometimes he joked with his friends, calling me his girlfriend. Which was completely impossible, since I was a close copy of Dad. I had inherited most of the traits from that side of the family and my mother was always saddened by it. We entered the area, after dad gave the invitations, and I started looking around in despair.
