I watched Gail braid a part of Khalil’s hair while he was sound asleep. Kei was holding his laugh, almost not breathing, while he took pictures. I glanced outside. Blue and Calum had fallen asleep on the couch, with Calum lying on Blue’s lap. Calum was determined to wait for his father and Bryce to get out safely, but he fell asleep in the end.
