Chapter 6

480 Words
Seeing as it was Sunday, Cass finished at 11 pm, just like the day before. Adrian followed his mate as discreetly as possible, and watched with a pang in his heart as she invited her boyfriend to enter. Some people might call what he was doing stalking, but he only called it research. Speaking of research, he had questioned her manager and now knew all there was to know about his mate. He learnt that she lost her parents in a car accident when she was in her senior year and then her brother not a year later to leukemia. He also knew that she had been with Andrew for over two years now and that although they fought often, they never really broke up. Adrian needed a plan to woo Cass, of that he was sure. Only he didn't know how to proceed. He was about to call his sister for advice when his phone went off. It was his uncle. “Hey Blake,” he greeted happily. “Hey kiddo,” his uncle greeted back, “How are you doing?” “I'm fine, how are you and Maria?” “We're fine. She's training as we speak.” “She's breaking trees?” Adrian questioned, knowing his uncle's training program from when he had trained Felicity. “Yes, that, she is,” he replied flatly. “So, M-J told me you met your mate. Congrats!” “Yes, I met her but she's already in a serious relationship.” “Don't let that get to you. You need to worm your way into her heart,” his uncle retorted readily. “I don't know how.” Adrian replied on a sigh. “Flowers and chocolate always help,” Blake supplied helpfully. “Try to hang out with her and get to know her before asking her on a date.” “Yeah, that's what I intended to do.” “Well, do your best and let your British charm play its role.” Adrian chuckled at that. “Will do.” “Take care, kiddo. I hope you'll succeed in seducing her.” Blake told him seriously. “Yeah, let's hope I manage. Bye.” “Bye.” Adrian had to admit that his uncle's call cheered him up. Blake, too, when he found his mate, she already had a boyfriend. He would put his advice to use starting tomorrow. Adrian stayed for a while in front of Cass’ building, hoping to see Andrew coming out with his tail between his legs. Only it didn't happen. One hour later, he decided to call it a night and to return to his hotel. He hated how impersonal hotel rooms were. He would have to buy a house in town soon for he was definitely going to stay in order to seduce his mate, age difference be damned.
