“You're beautiful,” he whispered, his bright hazel gaze caressing her face as his hands stroke her sides passionately.
“Shut up and kiss me!” She groaned as he obliged and she let her hands run free across his chest to his hair.
Soon enough, their clothes were gone, and they were near completion, when an annoying beep broke through their frenzied haze.
Cass awoke, inwardly cursing her alarm clock.
Worst timing ever. Just when they got to the juicy part, her wet dream was cut short. But should she be having a wet dream about a stranger when she had a boyfriend?
“Bad girl,” she told herself as she rose to her feet.
She made a beeline to the bathroom, discarding her pajamas on the way there and hopped into the shower. The hot water soothed her tense muscles and she was given the time to contemplate the question whether it was right for her to dream about Adrian.
Sure, she knew nothing about the guy, but he was easy on the eyes and she couldn't help but feel attracted to him. Something about him called to something deep within her, if that made any sense. Instead of feeling guilty over her traitorous subconscious, she felt oddly displeased with having the wet dream interrupted.
“Stop thinking about him,” she hit her head against the wall in dismay and resumed her shower.
When all was done, she went back to her room to choose her outfit for the day. She picked a black pencil skirt and a warm pullover. She then applied mascara to her eyes and a faint rose lipstick.
By the time she finished it was already half past 9. Since her shift started at 11, that gave her an hour and half of free time. She decided to have pancakes for breakfast and chose to go to the diner just outside her building, instead of making them herself.
Her phone rang the moment she stepped out of her apartment.
“Hey, how are you?” Came Alexia's voice.
“Fine, you?”
“Good, good. Please tell me you invited Mr. Greek god into your house yesterday.”
“Alexia!” Cass reprimanded immediately, refusing to even think about the possibility.
“What?”
“What about Andrew?” She let out on a sigh.
“You can do better and Mr. dark and handsome seems better,” her friend countered, not missing a beat.
“His name is Adrian, and we know nothing about him,” Cass argued right back.
“I know his name but nicknaming is much more fun,” was Alexia's light reply.
Having reached her destination, Cass decided to cut the phone call short. “Look, I'm at the diner now, we'll talk later.”
“OK, see you later.”
Cass couldn't help but contemplate her friend's words. Should she have invited him in to thank him for walking her home? She could imagine her thanks going out of control and she had to shake her head to clear her thoughts.
The waitress brought over her pancakes and gave her a what-the-hell look. Cass ignored her, knowing her inner monologues tended to make her do weird things when she was alone.
Stop thinking about him, she reprimanded herself anew, you'll probably never see him again.
