“Excuse me?” I was appalled, hoping I'd misheard the words that come out of this stupid guard’s mouth.
“I'm sorry ma'am. But by the boss’s orders, you are not allowed to leave the house without his permission.”

The guard spoke in response to my words, keeping his tone as monotonous and uncaring.
“I've been told to keep you from leaving. Even if I have to use a paralyzing dart on you. If you've got a problem, ma'am, you'll have to take it up with your husband. I'm only following orders.”
