Marcus had my wrist in a steel grip as we rushed through the forest in our human form. I felt the change in Marcus the moment he referred to Caspian as Alpha. It took me just a heartbeat to realize that he didn’t insist we shift so we could run faster and, since we were clearly running, we had left all our things behind. Did he know I was pregnant? But he couldn’t have. My mind was racing all over the place, the hair on the back of my neck was standing up and I knew I had probably made the biggest mistake of my entire life by agreeing to run away with him! How did he fool me like that?! Had my time away from the pack and the fact that I suppressed my wolf caused me to freaking lose all my wolf senses?!
