Alicia’s POV There was no time to say goodbye to anyone. I knew that if I didn’t get out of here now, Caspian would feel obliged to stay with me. He wouldn’t be doing it because he felt the bond, and our son would grow up in an environment where his parents never loved him. He wouldn’t have the example of a loving relationship, where I could teach him what one looked like if it was just the two of us. Not in a pervy way, but he wouldn’t grow up seeing the utter disdain his parents felt for each other. I knew that I would grow to resent Caspian over time and the mate bond wouldn’t be able to fix any of that. I quickly packed a few of my things into a bag and looked around the room. I had no idea if I would ever see my things again, but there was no time left to carefully pack everything.
