As expected, things were pretty uncomfortable for a while, but we all came together when Sophia arrived with the baby. I could see the fear in her eyes the moment she saw the three of us descend the stairs. I had decided I didn’t want a fight with her, and begged Caspian not to punish her too harshly, for the baby’s sake. No child deserved to pay for the sins of their parents, although it seemed as if that happened a lot.
