“After all that begging?” she asked, flabbergasted. I shrugged, unbelieving myself, “I wish I was lying but my body told me otherwise last night. It was as mediocre as always but I guess it's my fault for expecting more. Small brain, big c**k, doesn't know how to use it. Classic,” I scoffed. Aurora laughed her head nearly off, taunting me, “What do you know about classic males? Friendly reminder that you only turned into a w***e when you broke your virginity with Ar–” “No! We shall not mention that name!” I warned, an embarrassing flush of colour rising to my cheeks. Aurora's expression turned guilty, her eyes shot out as if remembering something, “Don't you have a flight to catch today?” “s**t!” I rushed for my suitcase and bag, “Your gossip is rather enticing but nevertheless, distracting!” I rushed towards the door, waving her goodbye before heading into the car. I recalled the moments of the previous night throughout the car ride and I nearly threw up. Even after months of being horribly intimate with me, he didn't bother to figure out what I liked, what aroused me. Only what made me happy materialistically as if that is what he's here for. Timothy is a strange man, oddly secretive, both for the public and mostly everyone around him. Everything he said or did, I've only ever taken it with a pinch of salt, because there was nowhere, and I mean nowhere, I could possibly find whatever truth I might be seeking. I had a flight back to Singapore for a few meetings and the like, a few works needed to be sold and negotiated alongside my company's and hotel's progress needed to be checked. I figured this time, I'd visit my foster parents and siblings while I had the chance. The Singaporean air was anything but horrible, the traffic, the people…I simply always loved to be here, but I couldn't possibly reside here. My studio, my game, my friends, all live in London, that's why I built my house there. There were of course a few people who recognized me at the mall, even with the supposed disguise. I went straight down to the small apartment I had here, settling in with cleaning, texting Nina and Aurora to tell them I had arrived, and unpacking for the week. I decided to make my visit a surprise tomorrow, it was Easter, surely Samantha, Prince, and Esther were going to be around for the holidays, it was a tradition that foster kids were unfortunately not able to attend. I currently don't know where any other of the foster kids I grew up with are, but as far as the foster kids under Freya and Damian were involved, they are all pretty well to do with now. Unfortunately, all out of Singapore too so visiting all at the same time was almost impossible. It had gotten to the evening before I finished with the apartment, so I took my car out for some drive-through dinner and fresh air. With that, I had spotted someone else, someone familiar this time trying their best not to be caught staring at me but it was obvious. If I wasn't mistaken, that looked like Ryker, but different. He had on a simple shirt with sweatpants, walking back to his car with a bag of food in hand, trying to not be so obvious that his eyes were fixated on me. I pretended like I couldn't see him and his eyes lingered till I blew my horn, making him sit up straight instantly, turning away from my direction. I giggled to myself, enjoying the rest of my food in peace. Surely he looked perfect even in casuals, his lean-built figure and outstanding features looked better underneath the moonlight for some odd reason. I didn't pay much attention to it, he most likely was here for business like me, wondering where he had seen me before. He must've laid eyes on so many women that he might have even mistaken me for someone else. Even if it's quite unlikely. I hurried back home, getting myself prepared for bed when suddenly, Nina called me, “Hi love, what's up?” “You didn't say you were up and doing with Timothy again!” She yelled. My ears rang, impulsively taking the phone off of my ear. “Do you want to deafen me!?” I yelled back. “Don't blame me, you just didn't tell me about all this. The man is at your door right now with a bouquet of pink tulips, he only ever does that when he wants to f**k you!” She whispered harshly. “So vulgar!” I scoffed, “In my defence, I was going to tell you, I just haven't had the time. From the gala last night, to the hangover this morning, to my rushed flight. It's been a lot, you know?” “You skipped the night of splendour after the gala,” she reminded me and I cursed under my breath, “Yeah I saw your little display at the gala, I just knew he'd be over here last night.” “You had me there but I planned to tell you tonight, I just got back from getting dinner,” I pleaded. “Well, I know now because, reminder, he's at your door right now!” She whispered harshly, “The least you could do was tell the man you're travelling to not give Aurora and me this stress.” “My apologies, let him in so he can drop the tulips and please tell him I'm out of town. We can't let good tulips go to waste, now can we?” I shrugged. “Right,” she deadpanned, “I'll call you back and tell you how it goes.” “Alright,” I ended the call after, working on my laptop till she called me back, “How'd it go?” “Can you believe he tried to flirt with me?” She sounded shocked as if she didn't know it was his nature. “I didn't expect less,” I rolled my eyes, “I hope he dropped the tulips, Sarah has been asking me for new flowers to put in the gallery.” “Of course he did, I didn't let him leave with them, especially after trying to advance to me,” she made a flattered face on the video call, “I guess I still got it then!” “Of course you do, but one doesn't know if they still 'have it',” I made air quotes, “from someone like Timothy. As long as you have a vulva, he's good with just that,” I scoffed. She giggled, “Well I let him know I wouldn't give him the time of day, even if I wasn't married,” she shrugged, “How do you even put up with him all the time? Such a w***e! Don't you get infections?” I shrugged, “I can't keep telling a single man what to do with himself. He's single, I'm single, if we both want to be whores nothing is stopping us.” “You deserve much better than that,” she cooed. “I know.” “But if you ask me, you're c**k-blocking by yourself. Be more open to stuff, stop assuming all men are the same, stop with the constant arrogance towards men,” Aurora added. “No thank you!” I cackled, “I am more than capable of handling myself, I would rather not have a Riff Raff destroy my brain. Besides, the right one would come whenever he wants to and I wouldn't need to stress it. Just like Nina and Quan.” “You might just chase yours away with your over-independence. Friendly reminder, you're getting old and your vibrator is too–” “Goodnight Nina!” I yelled, embarrassment flushing my cheeks as she laughed hysterically with Aurora, “We need to clean that vulgar tongue with some barbed wire when I get back!” I yelled bashfully before abruptly ending the call. I dropped the phone to the side, setting my alarm before excitedly heading for bed. I thought about how nice it would be to see my family once again, their reactions when I just pop up at the door would be extremely priceless. The warmth of this country reminded me so much of my childhood, basking excitedly in the very much missed heat, the wind strong in my face as I drove with my roof down. I drove down to get some food and ran a few errands and calls before making the journey to their house. I was quite excited to see my foster parents again, nothing compared to the feeling of seeing them once again I supposed. Most of all, I hoped at least one of my foster siblings was miraculously around for the holiday. I excitedly walked up to the front lawn, surprised as the dog recognized me as it jumped right on me as I stepped foot on the property. I laughed, carefully stroking the golden retriever's fur as it slobbered on me, “Hey Buddy! Missed me?” I cooed, petting her luxurious fur. “It can't be,” I heard Freya murmur, flabbergasted her gaze, the tears welling up in her eyes made mine well up as well, “Azura is that really you, honey?” she muttered, her eyes filled with shock as I approached her. “Hi Freya,” I smiled. “Oh, dear,” she muttered, a smile forming on her lips as the tears rolled down her face, “Damian honey, Azura is here!” She yelled for her husband, her greying hair billowing as she excitedly dragged me into the house with a large smile on her face. The house was just as I remembered. Large enough for a family of eight, the warm cream walls decorated with art at each corner with warm, cultural decor for an aesthetic touch. The warm, welcoming atmosphere stayed the same after all these years, that feeling of childhood endeavours came rapidly reoccurring to me. I wasn't that big on emotions, it wasn't my forte at all, but when I saw Damian in a wheelchair, my heart shattered.
