Pain enveloped my limbs as my throat burned with a fierce intensity, the acid melted away at my insides as blood sputtered past my lips and stained the sheets a gruesome crimson. The child wavered from view as he turned his back on me and screamed into the air, his words were a muffled mess as a daze swelled from my mind and muddled my vision until my surroundings were a blurred mess. The boy jumped to his feet as he glanced back at me in a panic. “Help her!” he pleaded. My head rolled to the side as drool bubbled down my chin and melded with my aching throat. The sheets tangled around my limbs, pinning me, my head swooned as the air crushed my lungs as I surrendered the will to live.
