"It's time you moved out. I can't be happier." Felix heard Cornelia say from the gates of her castle from where he was loading their luggage in his car.
He threw in the last suitcase that he owned in the trunk and shut it close. The face of his mate greeted him like a pleasant view. He couldn't help it, he bend over the trunk and kissed her lips.
It had been a month since the vampires had claimed their victory and made an alliance with the Siren. Felix felt peace in the air, soul and mind. The only place where peace lacked was his heart, that was occupied by his mate Debora.
"I know how happy you are, try not to show it on your face though." Felix said back to his Queen who couldn't keep her pearly grin out of her face. Beside her Aetius wasn't any better. He expected better of that wolf.
Debora and Felix were what people liked to call 'Honeymoon phase'. Felix didn't see what was wrong with that, and decided to make it a literal phase and take Debora for a vacation.
He had also brought a house for them not far from the castle to have the necessary privacy that the tall walls of Queen's castle failed to provide.
"You know what she means. She will miss you." Debora was his only comfort in this cruel world. Rounding around the car he stood in front of his Queen, and the owner of the castle he had occupied a room in for many years.
"I'll trust you to run this realm well in my absence. Don't call on me unless the whole place is burning to ashes. Let me be." He reminded the Alpha and Queen who nodded in reply.
Smiling Felix reached out and hugged Aetius who in return crushed his bones, "Have fun at your honeymoon. And don't come back anytime soon. Heaven knows I needs some time with my own mate without your work calls."
Felix nodded against his shoulder and with one last pat the Alpha wolf let him go. Felix coughed and turned to Cornelia.
"Have fun." She hugged him. He stayed in her embrace a little longer and closed his eyes. He imagined his sister bidding him a happy vacation with his mate. He felt a tad bit happier which he did not think was possible since he was already at the peak of it.
He pulled away from her and stepped back to hold Debora's hand. His love was grinning happily and moving on her feet from excitement. Felix reconed he had better take her away soon or there might be snow in the middle of summer.
Debora's emotions went astray after they came back from Semreo. Her magic was all over the place once she used it to a full extent with Cornelia. She would mistakenly freeze tap water, or boil their wine during dinner. She was banned from cooking in the palace kitchen.
Not to mention Felix escaped death countless times in her presence, it didn't make him love her any less. She needed him then more than anything and he did not disappoint her.
She had gotten bit better at controlling her emotions with Felix' help. Since the whole ordeal with the council and vampires Felix never left her side, it became a ritual to stick together. None of them minded the never wavering attention of their other half.
Felix started driving through the city with Debora on the passanger seat. Soft music played on the system and she hummed aging with it. Her honey voice swayed his heart and he smiled.
If he had to chose the best day of his life, Felix wouldn't be able to say. Everyday with his Debora felt unique in it's own way. He chucked at a memory of him waking up to Debora hanging halfway off the bed with books under her head instead of pillows.
Inspite of his continuous support towards Debora, Felix thought she overworked herself too many times than he would like.
She studied Witchers art and Siren history, everything she could get her hands on to learn more. He loved Debora to the end of worlds but he wouldn't want to see her awake all night even for something she liked doing. A little pursuance from him, some reluctance from her, lots of promises and a lot of love making brought her to reason.
A soft, pale hand reached up to his and held them as he drove. Debora did that a lot. She made it a habit to have physical contact, not that he minded. He was always up for it.
For anyone who saw them, they may seem like a normal couple in love but for them it was beyond that. Debora was more than his lover, more than the word 'Mate' described. She was his life, Debora white was the center of his being. His sun that he circled around.
Debora stared at the side of his face with a look of pure love. Felix was a great man, Debora knew that, and that was one of the many reasons she loved him. She wished he could see her love for him the way she could see his.
More often than not she found herself just looking at him and wondering how lucky she was to have found him. With a fate of Witches she was born with, Debora thought she would die without someone to hold her in her last days.
Now she saw light at the end of the tunnel as she saw Felix. He was hope for her, he was life, he was magic and everything she wanted. She turned to look away when she noticed the little tilt of his lips on the side. He had noticed her stare, he always did.
Her blue eyes were brighter now that her inner witch was one with her. Forming a philios bond with Cornelia had clicked a switched in both of them, Alrik didn't stand a chance against them.
Debora wasn't fond of bloodshed but that darkest time she had seen it. The killing around her, the wailings, howls and screams. Debora still shivered when her head replayed the scene before her. It had terrified her. If it wasn't for Felix', Cornelia and Alpha Aetius' constant support for her, Debora would have killed herself from hate. They saved her from drowning in her own sea of emotions.
But she still smiled. She was a witch of White. Her past didn't matter to her now and neither did it matter to her mate. Debora's hand felt a squeeze as Felix held her hand tighter in his. Yes, she would be just fine, her magic whispered in her ears. She would soon find her true calling like Cornelia did.
But until then, all that she saw, felt, heard and knew was Felix. Her witchery would have to wait.
