Felix was fast asleep when Debora left their bedroom. Still in her nightdress, her hair a mess on top of her head and nothing but hollow darkness in her eyes, Debora crossed the dark hallways in the prime house. The shadows didn't bother her, they became a part of her as she walked among them. Her breathing echoed in the quietness of night.
