CHAPTER SEVEN

-THIRD POV- "Meeting at midnight," Raffa sent out a message through the mental link to his pack. They nearly got caught by the human earlier. He had better make sure that wouldn't happen again. Shin pays attention to details. He was aware that she was not someone you could deceive or fool. They must take great caution around her, or else she would learn the compound's secret sooner than he had intended. As he made his way to his office, Raffa snickered. The pack's lead tracker materialized immediately behind him as he was ready to enter. "Alpha," Warren addressed him firmly and c****d his head slightly to the side in a sign of respect. Pushing the door wide and dragging his feet inside, Raffa said, "Inside, Warren." Raffa could hear Warren's plodding footfall behind him and he soon followed. The tracker is bulky, just like Ridge. frightening and fierce-looking. He is a member he can rely on, and Raffa is aware of his dependability when it comes to protecting their pack. "Mate!" Rachet suddenly grunted inside his head. His thoughts immediately turned to the human he had left in the living room with his fellow pack members. Raffa groaned incredulously. They had only recently been with Shin when his wolf displayed signs of being a lovesick puppy. "Later, Rachet." 'You, stupid, are so sluggish,' His wolf growled at him before going silent. "Alpha Raffa." Warren, who had noticed Raffa dozing off, spoke out to get the leader's attention." Raffa rubbed his neck after being abruptly brought back to reality. "I apologize, Warren. Rachet's throwing a tantrum." He went to the leather chair then sat behind the marble table and asked, "Any news about the rogues?" "Traces of them can be found along the southern boundary. A bunch of those mutts was also seen skulking around in the woodland. They claimed to be passing through, but they appeared unsettling. Before returning to our posts, we checked to make sure they were gone, " the tracker reported. Raffa shook his head and leaned back. "A group of those miscreants was spotted keeping watch at the compound's gate two weeks ago. Be on guard. I'm suspicious that they're into something." Warren paid heed. "Alpha, I'll tell the guards to make sure they're stricter and more watchful when they're on patrol." 'Yes, please carry out that," Raffa agreed. "They're not to be trusted, so make sure to pay extra attention to guarding the entire area. We'll discuss this issue with our pack members at our meeting tonight." Warren bowed his head and uttered, "Copy, alpha." He then walked away. "No one leaves the compound tonight, except those who will be in their tasks," the alpha sent an order to all his pack members by a mental link. Rogues are crafty and dangerous. They are savages and always searching for trouble. They need to keep an eye on them. After taking a long, deep breath, Raffa stood up. That day was quite exhausting but it was also somewhat remarkable. He couldn't help but feel partially satisfied when Shin Rivas came to mind once more. His chest warmed as he realized that he had finally found his soul mate. Although Shin seemed a little odd for a typical human, she was still his fated partner. "Raffa," through the use of their mental connections, Ella's voice abruptly jolted him out of his thoughts. "Yes, kid?" Raffa inquired, his face showing concern. "Uh, I think she might be missing." “M—missing? Who? ” "Shin has vanished." "God forbid!" The alpha swore loudly and stormed out of his office. He and Rachet both growled in annoyance. "That woman! She's a pain in the ass!" __________________ (Shin's POV) Restroom! Restroom! My bladder was yelling and I couldn't find the restroom because I usually had trouble following directions. It is one of my flaws, and it has occasionally led me into problems, such as when I entered the compound without authorization. "Freaking shit." I badly needed to go to the toilet, therefore, I ascended the stairs quickly and found myself on the floor that I absolutely had no idea what it was. To be honest, the mansion is enormous, so, understandably, I got lost. Each floor must have twenty to thirty rooms with spacious passageways. Geez. The fact that many people lived there but it seemed like the majority of them were not even blood relatives, except for Ella and Raffa Greyson, of course, baffled me. Ella introduced me to the residents who shared our previous meal. They did, however, treat me nicely, yet there's something strange about them. I once noticed them looking at each other. There was no verbal exchange. They merely make eye contact, as if they were having a private conversation. A hum left my mouth. Are those folks attempting to communicate telepathically? I mean, the place is already bizarre to me, and the people there weren't very helpful because they were acting very strangely as well. On the other hand, I acknowledged that they were all attractive as well. Like models ripped straight out of a renowned magazine. "Does this place have a spring of youth and beauty? Perhaps that explains why they don't want visitors." Shaking my head, I snapped at myself. I pushed the weird thought from my head, telling myself, "I'm the one who's thinking oddly. Seriously, a fountain of beauty and youth? Impossible." After looking around for a restroom for a minute, I discovered an unlocked room and nearly leaped with relief. I quickly ran in its direction and went to the bathroom. I spent a few minutes before I emptied my bladder. I then fixed my clothes, unlocked the door, and was about to leave when two girls burst into the room, causing me to stop short. As soon as their talk began, I instinctively froze in place at the lavatory door entrance. "I'm wondering where that human went," girl number one uttered. “Stop talking and hurry the f**k up. Change now!" Her companion ranted making me raise a brow. “I wonder why I can't sniff her scent. She's weird for a human, you know," still mumbling, girl number one let out. It's tough acting like a freaking statue, so I wanted to scream at them to move quickly. They must already change if they're going to do so for me to be able to retire to my chamber and slumber. "I said to move quickly! The alpha is now enraged!" The second girl groused, and I wanted to applaud her for it. Anyway, I was genuinely surprised that they were unaware of my presence when they started stripping off their clothes. A little while later, just in front of my eyes, their hot, flawless bodies were exposed, leading me to believe that they were simply going to change outfits. I had no idea they would produce more dramas and for the first time in my varied existence, I never once imagined that I would see something so incredible. I took a step back and supported myself by holding onto the door handle. ' 'Remember to breathe, Shin Rivas!' I made every effort to stay calm while my heart raced but was unsuccessful. I constantly remember the saying "To see is to believe," which is why I'm skeptical of extraterrestrials. That particular day, however, was an exception since I witnessed two girls strip off in front of me, leap into the air, and suddenly change into large dogs. 'Maybe these are wolves?' I chuckled mentally. Ridge guy is correct. Dogs and wolves differ greatly from one another. A dog is a dog. The wolf is the wolf! My body swayed, and my knees started to give way. That's all that was going to happen, I already knew. I collapsed.
