Fiona changed herself into a simple t-shirt that reads I am mad and went into the living area to call all the staff. She had the whole house to herself and she sure wanted to run it as long as she had the authority.
The maid who ruined her dress was the first to come but ignoring Fiona she told that new girl. “What are you doing, here? You aren’t supposed to…”
“Wait…you can’t have the say when I am sitting here. She will sit here…with me…and, you better go and make some pancakes for us and serve them with my favourite blueberry syrup. Will it work for you, new girl?”
That girl who already stood up when the maid started looked at Fiona for two long moments before she nodded, “Yes,”
“Great…keep it moving!” Fiona clapped her hands to the maid and looked at the girl.
“So, what’s your name…or you are supposed to keep it a secret like you are something better than me?”
That girl has blue eyes too. But seeing her lean physique one could tell she hasn’t been taken care of nicely.
“I don’t have a name…” That girl replied and Fiona narrowed her eyes. “Everybody has a name…even the rouges. So, what do they call you?”
“Girl,” That girl replied and Fiona nodded,
“Strange…what’s your pack’s name? What your parents are?” Fiona asked and that girl stared at the huge family picture behind Fiona. And, it only added a superior aura to Fiona. “My mom is dead and my father was never there. He has a family of his own and lives too far from here.”
“Where? I know all the names.”
“His pack’s name is Dark Feral.”
“That’s far...and not prominent but you are so young. Why don’t you travel to your dad’s? I mean…no matter what but for you it will be better there than here. I mean I get it is Redstone but you won't have to work there..." Not wanting for her to continue forever that girl replied, “My mom has asked me not to go there. He knows about me but…he doesn’t want to do anything with me. I have never met him. And, then my mother was the other woman. I don’t have any rights…”
“That’s bullshit. My mom was another woman too…it’s on your dad and mom. You shouldn't...”
“Life isn’t the same for everyone. I will not be welcomed there. At least, this is what my mom told me.” Fiona felt bad for her. But twisted her mouth before asking. “So, how did you get here? How do you know Paula?”
That girl could tell Fiona could talk nonstop. “My mom used to work for her aunt. And, after my mother’s death, Paula was asked to do something about me. Paula is going to be a Luna in the future. So, everyone who knows her asks her for favours all the time…”
“Oh yea, I get it…have you seen our land? The meadows are beautiful. You are going to love it. And, the waterfall?...don’t get me started…will you come with me if I ask you?” How much Fiona wanted that she agrees and couldn’t help shouting when that girl nodded a little.
“Why you don’t have any name? Why don’t pick something for yourself?” Fiona asked that girl as they both walked to the top. Two guards accompanied them at a safe distance.
“My mom hated me. And,…her friends said that being called girl suits me.” Fiona tried not to judge her situation. Something she seldom does.
“What name you would like for yourself? I will call you what you want to be called.” Fiona stopped walking when that girl stopped.
“How…Sienna sounds?” That girl asked and Fiona smiled.
“It sounds nice, Sienna. You will always be called Sienna…” Fiona motioned her to keep walking and they started walking to the waterfall. “…I am not on good terms with my brother now…” Fiona jumped on the little rocks carefully. “…But if it ever sorted…I will ask him to get your name official. If you are ready to take the oath to not keep your ties with your old pack. I can talk him into for you to become one of us. You don’t have to work then. Every member of our pack is a friend. And, we aren’t…” But then Fiona stopped to look at her.
“Will you be my friend? And, why don’t you talk much?” Sienna stared at her hand before she looked at Fiona.
“I am not always quiet. Am I?” Sienna asked and accepted to shake her hand.
“You are…I am doing all the talk. But don’t worry…we will do something about it.”
They both sat and enjoyed how beautiful their city looked from this afar. “As of now, their plane must have landed. They will be cutting the cake in the next two hours. Every channel must be covering the event right now...and…”
“We could have stayed home and seen all the…” Sienna tried to say but Fiona was quick to cut. “No way…” Fiona had her mood bitter again. And, Sienna was the spectator of how she was treated by her parents in the morning. They somehow had the same situation but different lives.
“I have seen royals…they are not that interesting.” Sienna broke the silence and Fiona stared at her face nodding. “I can imagine honey. You…got no taste. We are talking about a royal family. One of the most powerful werewolves to ever walk on the earth. They are amazing…and, a person like you…don’t worry…you know what I will teach you how to admire better things…will you like that?” Fiona asked getting her hand in the air and Sienna stared at her hand before she returned her high five.
“So, tell me…what can you do better except for being quiet?”
“I can cook…” Fiona rolled her eyes at this.
“You are too young to cook, honey. Have you ever thought about the things you will do after you will turn? What if this quiet little girl turns out to be a powerful beta with fighting skills so good that the moon goddess blesses you with the most handsome man on the earth...” Sienna only looked into her eyes and shook her head.
“…don’t worry. I will teach you how to dream too.” Fiona kept talking to her and Sienna couldn’t help but feel that she was seen. Someone was talking to her. As if she was a person. She lay on the crispy grass and looked at the clear beautiful sky with Fiona. Sienna inhaled sharply and wanted to tell her grandma that she finally found someone who wants to be friends with her. Maybe she wasn't that ugly or useless.
Fiona was telling her what shape the cloud was when they both got startled finding a fighter jet passing over them. Fiona and Sienna got up and looked at their back to find many coming over the island. They could already see one of the tallest buildings bombed.
Fiona cried out so loud and looked at her guards. “What…what’s happening!” but the guards were quick to turn into wolves and threw girls on their backs before running to one of their hideouts in the meadows.
“What was that? Are we under attack? We don’t have dad here…and Troy…Call them?” Fiona was panicking and they could hear more bombings. The land beneath them would shake horribly whenever their pack was bombarded.
One of the guards linked his mind to Fiona and snarled. “I don’t know a thing, Ms Walter. We better go out and…”
“You can’t leave us…what will we do if we are attacked?” Fiona got her eyes widened.
“Don’t worry, this one is the newest hideout. It’s quite long and spacious at the back. Not many people know about it and, you better get farther in…and, stay there…no matter what!” The guard almost yelled at the end and Fiona could only nod a little. Both girls witnessed the guards leaving but looked at their feet when it shook again. Fiona got her hands on her ears before her eyes fell on Sienna. Looking at Sienna calm gave her a little courage too. “Don’t worry…these must be some rouges…” Fiona said and Sienna shook her head a little. As for Fiona, there could be no other explanation.
“Has it happened before? Rouges can’t have these many jets. And, not here…this place isn’t too far from the castle. It’s the safest place. I can sense it is something…” Sienna seemed to be panicking and Fiona narrowed her eyes when Sienna got on her knees sobbing.
“It hasn’t happened before…but you can’t stay weak. You are to become a part of our pack in the future. And, we aren’t cowards.” Fiona tried not to sound weak.
“Everyone is a coward,” Sienna shot back and Fiona narrowed her eyes. “I don’t agree.”
Sienna only stared at Fiona’s hands which were shaking. And, it made Fiona notice her own hands too. “It doesn’t mean I can’t get scared you, dimwit…now let’s walk farther in…even if rouges find us…I don’t want them to find us here like a piece of cake.”
They sat in the middle of the cave and Fiona hiccupped. “My family is all happy there…and I might get killed before...” Sienna rolled her eyes seeing how strong she was. She was really all talk about courage.
“I am sure they are now informed about the attack. They might be on their way.”
“You think so?... I wish my room doesn’t get destroyed. It has my…”
“You have never been out of the pack house, right? I mean your pack house life?” Sienna asked and Fiona looked at her for a moment before she replied, “It’s my home…where else I am supposed to be? Why did you ask?” Fiona asked in the end and Sienna only shook her head. “Nothing…it just shows.”
“What?” Fiona asked and Sienna whispered. “Nothing…you are so pretty, Fiona.” Fiona smiled and then looked at her. Fiona wonder how she could return the compliment but then whispered. “It’s mostly makeup. Once this all ends, I promise to give you all my makeup…I will even share my clothes with you. You are accompanying me at my lowest. You should be awarded a title or a medal. You deserve a lot more.” Sienna looked at Fiona’s trembling hands and held her hands stronger. It wasn’t the first time for Sienna to hide somewhere. She has mostly spent her life hiding in the closet whenever her mother’s friends were home.
“I will hold you for your promise, Fiona. Because…I liked your dress.” Fiona smiled and squealed. “I love my dresses too.”
The girls stayed there and it was getting dark now. There were no lights and Fiona couldn’t help asking.
“It’s been long since the last bombing? I haven’t heard anything. Do you think we should go out and...?” Fiona asked and Sienna shook her head. “No, we shouldn’t do that. We will follow the guards.”
“Ok,…” Fiona replied but then whispered. “I have never seen a rouge before. Have you?” Sienna shook her head before she replied, “No, I have heard they are just like us, Fiona…but love chaos. They don’t like peace. Remember that.” Fiona nodded before she said, “It seems there are a lot of things you know too.”
“But not fun things,” Sienna replied and Fiona was still trying to figure out what she said when they both heard some commotion making its way into the cave. Both girls had their breathing held but Fiona was quick to sense comfort. She could tell from here it was Troy.
“Troy…we are here!” Fiona yelled before she ran in that direction. Sienna inhaled sharply and try to sniff carefully. She could still sense panic in the air and was quick to yell. “No, wait!”
Fiona soon spotted Troy who was turned into his wolf form and had his mouth bloody. Fiona could tell he was in a fight but nothing could stop her to run for her brother. She was quick to swing by his neck and ask. “Are you ok? I got scared. I thought I will die before you will ever get to know…”
“Fiona…” His brother linked his mind to her and had misery in his voice when he said. “…run…run for your life.” Fiona huffed a little in disbelief. “What…what are you saying?” She got her hold on his fur stronger.
“Everything is destroyed. The Redstone pack, our place and our identity.”
“No,” Troy saw fear in her eyes. “Run Fiona…and remember one thing…no one should ever know that you belonged to Redstone. No single soul,”
“What are you saying? This is my only identity. I am no rouge.”
“You are the worst. You have a traitor’s blood in your veins. Even the moon goddess will haunt you. They will kill you no matter what.”
“What are you saying…I am no traitor? Troy, you are scaring me. Don’t do that…I can’t run. You have to come with me…or what I will do without…”
“They are coming for us. Fiona, I can’t come with you…run…run...run right away.”
“I won’t leave without you…we will run together and…” But before she could complete Troy fell on his left side. She noticed how he had a silver blade pierced on his back. “Troy?” Fiona tried to get that blade but Troy was quick to punch her. Troy growled on the ground and was making failed efforts to stand.
“They are here…I can hear them...Fiona...run,” Fiona had her breathing laboured and wondered who was coming. Rouges? But won’t they get help from other packs? Rouges could never end the Red Stone pack. Her pack was powerful and invisible. They had huge bank balances. They could win wars. This is what she has been told and learned so far.
“I won’t run! I am Red Stone. And, dad…where’s dad. I will go and look for him. You wait here. I will find some help…” She felt someone tugging her and looked at her back to find Sienna pulling her.
“He is of no use. He can’t run and save himself or anything. We are too young to deal with whatever it is.” Fiona narrowed her eyes and pushed Sienna away with all she got. Fiona was heaving in anger at her suggestion. The situation had her in splits.
“No! I won’t leave Troy. You can leave if you want but I can’t leave my brother. He is my Troy...my brother. But how will you understand? Even your mother didn’t want you. And, it’s so apparent why? You don’t know what love is. What loyalty is? What family is? I can attack the goddess if I have to and get murdered for him…” But then heaving she looked at Troy again. “…and you just hang in there and don't talk. I am not listening.” Troy noticed fat tears slipping her cheeks before she turned to walk to the entrance. He wanted to move and stop her but couldn’t.
Troy didn’t know who this girl was but linked his mind to request her. “Don’t leave her here. Take her away…please…please help save my sister,” all the while staring at his beautiful sister. She was too innocent and spoiled for the real world or any world where there was no Troy beside her.
Sienna pulled Fiona’s hair with such a force that got her disoriented for a moment. “We have to leave or we will be dead…” Sienna was still trying to pull Fiona when they found four other wolves in front of them. They were growling and snarling showing their huge teeth.
Both girls were scared to death finding a light following those wolves. They could tell there were many coming. Soon, around five men with torches in their hands appeared. Fiona was quick to spot that was one of them was the personal assistant to their chief guard, Roni.
For a moment Fiona hoped they were here to help them out but how they only stood there and refuse to act she whispered, “Roni?”
Sienna held her hand stronger and told her, “He isn’t here to help.” But soon those five men made way and Fiona noticed Thomas standing there. Holding Fiona’s arm Sienna started taking their steps backwards. “Please…let us go...” Sienna heaved and could only hope they were spared.
“Oh, my goddess…what we have found here? The princess of Red Stone pack. Aren’t you?”
