Chapter 10 An Unexpected Kiss

Walking out of the cafe, Bella was in a good mood. She waved goodbye to Tom and then hopped happily down the steps.
Tom was handsome, chatty, and carried himself in a gentle way. Moreover, he was highly talented. The fact that the Professor asked such an outstanding man to tutor her made her feel more confident about her graduation.
Being in such a good mood, Bella smiled and walked with a spring in her step. Her mood quickly changed, however, as a man suddenly came towards her.
“James Parker! Why are you here?”
“You tell me why I am here,” James walked directly at Bella and grabbed her hand forcefully. Bella cried out in pain.
Tom was still standing at the door of the cafe. Seeing James seize Bella so angrily, he rushed to them and shouted: “Let her go!”
“Who do you think you are?” James frowned and glanced at Tom. He thought he had seen this face before. But he would not waste his time on unimportant people. He grabbed Bella’s hand and walked her toward his car.
“Let her go! Who are you?” Tom raised his arm and put it between Bella and James.
“She’s my...” James tried to utter something. But then he realized that it would be quite hard to tell people about their embarrassing relationship, which irritated him intensely.
“Your mother didn’t teach you to mind your own business? f**k off!”
“Your mother didn’t teach you to be gentle with girls, did she?” Tom shouted back, not moving an inch.
Two handsome men fighting for a girl at the school gate. It was like the plot of a TV soap opera!
The passing college students were very young and longing for love. Seeing the scene unfold before them, some took out their phone and began taking photos of James and Tom.
“Stop it!” Bella shouted. She didn’t want to see her photos online. Covering her face, she turned to Tom: “Tom. He...he is my friend. I’m afraid I have to go.” Then she pushed James and said: “Let’s get out of here!”
Like he was the winner of this battle, James looked smugly at Tom. He pushed Bella into his car and drove away.
Standing still, Tom saw the car drive out of view and smiled inexplicably.
Bella Green and James Parker… interesting.
There was a long silence in James’ car. James wore his usual cold face, whilst Bella was equally unhappy. Tony, who usually never stopped talking, also shut his mouth and pretended he wasn’t there.
After arriving at his villa, James ordered his staff to leave the house and dragged Bella into his living room. He sat on the couch angrily. “Who was that man?”
“Who?” Bella was confused by his strange question.
Seeing her reaction, James got angrier. “The man who sat with you in the cafe!”
Bella realized that he was talking about Tom and felt uncomfortable with him questioning her private life. So, she replied jokingly: “He is my senior in college. He is really handsome, isn’t he? And you thought you were the most handsome guy?!”
“You think he is more handsome? Than me?” James said with a cold voice, frowning.
Bella didn’t notice his anger and continued praising Tom. “He is so kind. He just finished the student exchange program and is very talented. Most importantly, he has a good temper!”
James frowned and his face turned darker. Bella was praising another man in front of him! Somehow, this idea made him angry. And if Bella kept talking about that man, he would get even more annoyed. If she continued praising that man, he might lose it!
James decided to make her stop talking. He stood up, seized Bella’s hand, and pushed her onto the couch.
Bella could not fight against James’ force. She felt unable to stand and fell down. When Bella calmed down, she found that she was lying under James, face to face.
It was undeniable that James was gorgeous. Tom was handsome for his gentlemanly behavior while James was handsome for his sharp coldness. He had deep eyes, beautiful eyebrows, and sexy lips. He was definitely Bella’s type.
This was the first time that she had had a good look at James. After all, he often quarreled with her or got mad at her silently. He had even threatened her life! This was one of the few times they had actually made eye contact.
Bella was still immersed in her thoughts, when James suddenly kissed her. Realizing what had happened, Bella stared at him. With her heart beating crazily, Bella pushed James away.
James was also surprised. He could not explain why he had kissed Bella. He was annoyed by her praising another man and wanted to shut her mouth. Why did he choose a kiss to stop her talking?!
Seeing Bella slightly open her wet lips and gaze at him directly, like she was frightened, aroused James even more.
“Boss...” Tony walked in but his words caught in his throat.
What had he seen? No, he saw nothing!
Trying to ignore James riding on top of Bella, Tony continued his words: “You have a guest.”
“I don’t care who it is!” James shouted angrily. His ears turned a fiery red. “I’m not going to see anyone!”
Bella quickly climbed up from the couch and cleared her throat. She whispered to Tony: “We didn’t do anything. Honestly!”
Tony wore a complicated expression, as if to say that he knew what had happened and it was normal. Bella was irritated by his expression. “You know nothing!” she thought.
As Bella continued looking at Tony, someone opened the door.
Bella heard light footsteps. A girl in a white dress stood at the door. She had a beautiful, innocent face and her appearance made the room look brighter.
She glanced at Bella and turned to James with a sweet smile. “James, you don’t want to see me?”
Seeing the girl, James changed his expression immediately and bounced up from the couch. The anger in his eyes disappeared in a second. He had gone from a furious lion to a cute little dog. “Lily!” James exclaimed.
The dramatic change in him made Bella curious about the relationship between James and this girl. After all, she could alter his mood so easily.
Lily walked toward Bella and acted like she hadn’t seen the strange look between her and James. She hugged James’ arm and looked at Bella with a bright smile.
“Hi. I’ve heard about you. You are James’ physician, right? I’m James’ fiancée, Lily Jefferson.”
"Hi... Bye!" Bella then took the chance to run off the car.
