“Captain Pendar, there are two Khanze vessels in this sector. As soon as we are within distance, we’ll get their attention and let you slip behind the moon undetected.”
“We’ll be ready,” Aden said. He released the com button, grateful engines weren’t the only device on the old Balkan that had received an upgrade. “Lieutenant, show me the position of those two Khanze ships.”
“Right away, sir.”
The large screen on the left side of Aden’s work-station began to flicker. Annoyed by the system’s slow response time, he looked to the main display. That screen also struggled to produce the image and he resigned to a wait. So much for upgrades.
