15. Time to Fight

~ LARK ~ With a gasp, Lark dropped the phone on the tabletop like it had burned her. But she couldn’t get away from that image. She stood up from the seat so quickly her chair fell over and she almost tripped over it backing away. Her heart was pounding and her stomach sick. Fear made her skin flash cold, while anger and injustice burned in her blood. She was left trembling, her heart tearing from within, and her wolf fighting for release. Whenever Lark was desperately afraid or desperately angry her wolf woke up and became undeniable. It snapped and snarled, pushing forward to stand in protection—or to flee.
