21 Bonnie noticed it, too, and caught the pixie’s attention. “Kedie, turn on your fire!” Kedie frowned at her. “My fire is high enough to-” “Just do it!” Kedie wrinkled its nose but released me and stepped back. “Alright, but you’d better close your eyes.” I stood and retreated into the eager arms of my mate. He drew me close as the tiny ball of fire in front of us shut its eyes. The flames on Kedie’s body spiked upward like a freshly fed fire. The glow from the flames covered every inch of the meadow, and at touching the fog the mist let out a hissing noise. Light vapor rose up and dissipated above our heads.
