Chapter 1
Baek's POV
I got off the car my mother was driving when it stopped in front of a massive building. I thought to myself, ‘so this is where I am going to live from now on. It's a huge house. Are they hiding giants in there or something?’
I'm standing in front of what they call--a mansion. Yeah. Who the hell lives in this place where you can definitely house a whole village in it?
Oops! Where are my manners?
My name is Baek. I was a Wanphen. Was. My mother, Victoria Park-Wanphen became a widow when I was twelve. After four years, she remarried and adopted her husband's name. And here we are.
My name is Baekhyun Jirayung. My mother's husband's name is Dylan Jirayung. From this day on, I will be living here. With my new father. And my new--
"Ouch!"
"Hey kid! Pass the ball, will ya?"
A tall late teen boy stood by the side of the house wearing basketball shorts and T-shirt. He was tan, a total opposite of my pale skin. I was envious. And he just called me kid and ordered me to pass the effing ball that happened to hit my effing head?
I glared at him and grabbed the ball off the concrete ground just two feet away from me. I gripped it so hard so it can have the best momentum when I threw it at his face.
I was about to swing my arm backward when my mother came back from wherever she went off to earlier. She's walking with a man her age. He looks like the older version of the jerk that hit me in the head with a basketball.
"Oh, good! Baek, meet your new brother---Ace." My stepdad introduced me to his son. Wait what?!
"Hello, little brother. Call me P'Ace." The jerk emphasized as he reached out his hand and smiled at me, showing his stupid gums and his white teeth. And his beautifu---
"-aek!
...Baek!"
"Uh.yeah. I'm Baek. P'-P'Ace." I gave a smile back. He looked surprised at first. His smiling mouth turned to gasping. And then he squeezed my palm as he shook my hand. He smiled again.
What the hell? It's a different smile. Cocky smile? Mischievous smile?
Brrr! Shivers!
"Come inside, Baek. The attendants will take care of your luggage." My stepdad gestured me to follow him and my mom toward the house's main entrance door.

"It's a good thing that you're joining the family before the end of summer. You're going to be a freshman in high school, right?" My stepfather says as the four of us sat around the table for lunch.
When we arrived, it was almost twelve.
I nodded at my new father. "I'd like to go to a school nearby so I don't have to make my mother drive me back and Ace." I smiled to both my mother and her husband.
The man gave my mother a kiss on her temple. Awww! Sweet. He's a good guy. "You have a good kid, sweetheart. Now we have two."
He then turned to me. "Ace will take you to and fro. Later on you can choose own car when you turn sixteen."
I was taken aback but I was excited. But then I turned to look at my new brother sitting across from me.
He winked at me!
I gave him an eye as if saying, 'we're in front of our f*****g parents, you dillhole!'
But why would I even say that. And look at him. He's grinning from ear to ear like he is about to get lucky.
Bastard.

After lunch, my mother and her husband took me to my new bedroom.
"Wow! This is really for me? Like just me?!" The room is five times bigger than my previous one. I stepped inside and admired the spacious room.
My mother and I lived in an apartment building. My father left us a huge sum but both me and my mother are not big spenders. We chose to live simply.
But now she married a freaking millionaire. Where's the simplicity, mother?
"We haven't decorated it yet. Your mother said you would love to customize it yourself. That's good." My stepfather is standing by the door with my mother.
"So you like it, sweetie?" My mother put a hand on my shoulder after she walked towards me. "Yes, mom."
I turned around to thank the man who gave me and my mother a new home. "Thank you, uh--"
"Call me dad, son." I smiled. "Thanks...dad."
"Come here, you two." My mother pulled us both for a bear hug she barely could do since she is smaller than her husband and shorter than me. "Ace, honey. Join us."
Before I could react and see him coming, I felt arms wrap around me. Great. And he's taller and bigger than me.
When everybody pulled away, I saw my mother next to my new dad. "We have a cute little family, don't we honey." My mother said as she looked up to him.
"We do, don't we sweetheart." And they both stood there smiling happily.

My parents left me in my room with all my stuff already brought in by so called attendants. Okay. Helpers. And my new brother. Well. He's still in my room.
"Um. Don't you have to be somewhere else like play your stupid ball or something?" I asked him annoyingly. Yeah. His presence just irritates me.
He sat by the bed. Bouncing on it as if testing its durability and firmness. He ran a palm across the sheets. He lowered his head and sniffed on it.
What the f**k is he doing?
I knotted my brows watching his weird actions. I coughed a little to get his attention. "Um. It's my bedroom so---"
"The bed is good. It smells fresh, too." He stood up and walked towards the windows. The blinds are all put away. He picked a remote from the night stand close to him. He pressed a button and the blinds started to come close together in the middle.
"The blinds work great, too."
What the f**k?!
Then he walked past me. Headed to the door. Oh good. He is leaving.
I was going to inhale exhale in relief when I heard a click from my door and then two arms wrap themselves around me from behind. What th--
"Welcome to the family...little brother."
