Chapter 10
I felt so relieved when I got the news that Sirius and his Beta Chris had left the grounds and driven off. I felt as if the weight and tension had been lifted right off of me. Then Draven turns up with a letter given to him by Sirius for me.
His scent in the air is already confusing Gem enough as it is without having it smelling so strong and tempting on this letter. I am not ready to deal with this right now, so I shove it into the drawer. Maybe tomorrow, I will be brave enough to look at the contents. Gem doesn’t push me even though she wants to know what our mate has said, at least for today anyway.
