After Aya was done with her laundry, she decided to clean her whole townhouse. It took her hours to finish and when she’s finally done, she took a shower and rest. She was watching Netflix in her room when her eyes fell on the things that were scattered on her desk.
One of those things is the black and gold business card that was given by their client. She stood up and went to grab the card, and then her conversation with her boss flashed back to her.
“Spend millions and hire a husband.”
“Did she really hire a husband just to get out of her engagement?” She mumbled to herself.
Then she looked intently at the card and she was confused why it doesn’t have any number or address. Just the words RnJ Services; Find your ideal husband.
“Why is there no number or address? How can I inquire about this? Is this a scam or something?” She mumbled and then she tilted the card against the light and that is when she noticed something.
In like a hologram, there was an address written on it. Aya immediately grabbed a pen and started writing down the address. Once she’s done, she read the said address and somehow it looked familiar to her. After much thinking, that is when she remembered that it was the address of the Hercules Sparadise.
“What in the world...”
Aya mumbled as she furrowed her eyebrows in confusion.
****************************.
Aya spent the whole night watching her favorite series on Netflix, and at the same time, she is thinking about the card and the idea of hiring a husband. She badly wanted to get out of her family’s clutches, as well as their batch reunion.
Her classmates have been pestering her nonstop and it’s really annoying her. She hasn’t committed yet but they are all giving her tasks for the reunion as if she is indeed going. The pressure is really getting into her.
The next day, Aya woke up late and in a sour mood. She also has bags under her eyes as she kept tossing and turning in her on her bed. After she took a shower, her eyes once again fell on the black and gold business card.
She picks it up, and then she cursed and stuffed it inside her bag. Then she run towards her closet and started getting dressed. She wore light blue cotton pants and a white sleeveless top, paired with white sandals. Then she blows dry her hair and applied a very thin layer of makeup. She then sprayed her favorite everyday perfume and then she put on her eyeglasses and looked at her reflection in the mirror.
“Malaya, to hell with everything. Go and sell your soul and get yourself a husband.” She told herself.
After her pep talks to herself, she grabbed her bag and went out of her room. She rushed downstairs and grabbed her house and car keys. She went out of her house, locking the door behind her before getting into her car.
She huffed a couple of times before she finally drove off towards her destination – Hercules Sparadise.
She took more than an hour to get to the spa because of the heavy traffic. She parked her car properly before getting off. She made sure she locked her car doors before she made her way into the spa.
When she got inside she was impressed with how clean the place was and how it smelled like roses. The whole place was made to look like an ancient luxurious Greek room of royalties. As Aya was looking around, one of the staff approached her.
“Welcome to Hercules Sparadise, what would you like to have today?”
Aya turned around and face the staff.
“I am not here to have a massage or something; I would like to talk to Ms. Vherdschen.” She said.
“Do you have an appointment?”
“Uhm no, but I would like to ask her about the card she gave me,” Aya answered, and then she pulled out the card from her bag.
The staff looked confused about the card, but then someone approached them. Aya immediately recognized the person as Ms. Vherdschen’s assistant.
“Hi, Ms. Malaya Enriquez welcome to Hercules Sparadise.” The assistant greeted Aya.
“Uhm hi,” Aya responded with an awkward wave.
Then the assistant turned to the staff and dismissed her, before turning back to Aya.
“My name is Ara Thelis and Ms. Vherdschen is currently out of the country for personal reasons. But she told me you’ll be coming and that I will provide you with everything you needed. “Ara told Aya.
“Uhm okay...”
“Please come with me to my office so we can discuss what you came here for,” Ara said, and then she led Aya towards her office. Once they are inside, Ara told Aya to take a seat, and then she offered her some fresh juice.
And when Ara was seated behind her desk, she pulled a folder from under her desk and placed it in front of Aya.
“What’s this?” She asked and then she opened the folder and scanned its contents.
Aya furrowed her eyebrows and looked at Ara.
“Non Disclosure Agreement? Is this really necessary?” She asked and Ara nodded.
“We like to keep everything a secret. This will serve as protection not just for us but for you as well. I cannot disclose anything with you unless you sign that NDA.” Ara explained.
“Even if I am just inquiring?” Aya asked and Ara nodded.
“Even for inquiry.”
Aya heaved a deep sigh and then she read every document before grabbed the pen and signed the document. Then Ara took the folder from Aya and placed it back under her desk.
“There, I signed it. Can you now explain to me why you gave me this card? And what the hell is this husband for hire thing?” Aya asked.
Ara Thelis then looked at Aya.
“RnJ Services, it is a company that answers to the call of those lonely women that have been neglected by their husbands; broken, loveless, battered, and ignored or in your case, a woman that wishes to get out of a long family tradition of arranged marriage. The husbands of RnJ are sure to ease the pain away.” Ara started.
“Wait, how the hell did you know about my family tradition? Were you spying on me? Are you CIA?” Aya blurted and Ara chuckled.
”We are far from CIA but we have our ways.” Ara answered.
“Creepy ways,” Aya mumbled, and then she cleared her throat.
“So correct me if I’m wrong. From what I understand so far, this RnJ Services is a secret company that provides men for women in need.” Aya started and Ara nodded.
“You provide help no matter what the woman’s reasons?”
“Not everyone can have the opportunity, Ms. Enriquez. There’s a screening process, it’s either our field agents found your profile interesting and worth helping or we get a recommendation, and then we perform further investigation. And when she passed, that is when the card is given. But that’s not where security stops, each card is personalized for the person; to the point, she’d be the only one who can see the hidden address written on the card.” Ara explained and Aya was a bit flabbergasted.
“And when the woman meets your standards?”
“Phase two. Are you willing to hire a husband to help you with your problems?”
“And how much are we talking about to just hire a man to be my husband?” Aya asked.
Ara Thelis held her chin up and cleared her throat while Aya took a sip of her juice.
“Anywhere from twenty to fifty million, depends on the duration of the contract,” Ara told her and Aya spat her drink before looking at Ara with wide eyes.
“Are you kidding me?!”
