Her Decision

1212 Words
When Aya came home from her visit to Hercules Sparadise, she immediately slumped down the couch and closed her eyes. Then she sighed and pulled her feet up on the coffee table.   She tried to relax a bit but then her mind went back to what transpired in the office of the spa. She can’t believe that there is a way for her to get out of the problem she was facing regarding her family tradition.   The offer was really tempting and seems very useful. It can be a bit expensive but she understood why and besides money isn’t going to be a problem for her. But what bothers her is if she can pull off such a charade? Will the man that will pose as her husband be up to her standards? Will her grandfather and the rest of her family and batch mates believe them? Those are some of the questions pestering her mind.   And then she remembered that she has to send an email if she is going to proceed. She contemplates what she’s going to do. Is she going to proceed or not? Then as soon as she made up her mind with her decision, Aya shot up from the couch and she grabbed her bag, and went up to her room upstairs.   She barged inside her room and threw her bag on the bed before she sat in front of her desk. She then opened her laptop and started composing an email. Even she was buzzing with excitement; she was taking her sweet time as she write down her purpose of hiring a husband, her demands, and her preference for her hired husband.   And when she was done, she sent the email and let out a long sigh. “What sorcery has influenced you Malaya?” She mumbled as she stared at the screen of her laptop. ******************************.   The next day, when Aya was about to get into her car she saw Andoy dressed in a white polo shirt and jeans with his sunglasses on, and looking like he was about to go on a photo shoot.   Aya didn’t realize that she was staring until Andoy grinned and approached her. “Are you going to work now?” He asked.   Aya blinked twice and nodded. “Okay, I will be going to take care of some personal matters so you won’t be seeing me for a day or two. You take care okay.” He told her.   Aya frowned and crossed her arms over her chest.      “You’re telling me that because?” She asked, and then Andoy smirked. “Just so you won’t miss me much.” He said and then he pinched her cheek and left to go back to his truck, leaving Aya dumbfounded.   Andoy waved her goodbye before getting into his truck and drove away. Aya huffed and turned towards her car and unlocks it. Then she opened the door and climbed in. She took several calming breaths before she was finally able to start the car and drove away.   She was slightly irritated when she remembered Andoy’s cocky approach earlier and being stuck in traffic just add fuel to the fire. It annoys how cocky Andoy was to her but what annoyed her more is that her heart seems to skip a beat when he’s near her. **********************************.   When she finally got to her office, she immersed herself in work to keep her thoughts at bay. She and the A-team started their preparation for the Hercules ad that was assigned to them.   During lunchtime, Aya was called into her boss’ office. When she got there, she was surprised to see lunch prepared for the two of them. While eating, her boss couldn’t stop herself and ask. “How was your inquiry regarding the business card?”   Aya looked at her boss. “How did you know I went there? Is it because you went through it before?” She asked and her boss smiled. “Yes, and I didn’t regret it.” She said and then Aya sighed. “There’s nothing for you to worry about it. I’m telling you, they are very professional. Their husbands for hire are gentlemen, nice and hot as fvck.” She said and Aya arched her eyebrow. “No need to put on a good word. I already decided and I will sign the contract once they call me in.” Aya told her boss who squealed.    Aya winced as her boss continued to squeal like a giddy teenager. “Oh my god! I’m telling you Aya, you won’t regret getting their service. Who knows, not only that you’ll get out of your predicament, you’d also find yourself a boyfriend.” Her boss told her, wiggling her perfectly shaped eyebrows.   Aya rolled her eyes and took a sip of her juice. “There are insane strict rules, and I am adamant on complying with those rules,” Aya said.   Her boss scoffed and smirked. “I said the exact words before, sweetheart. But look where I am now, happily married with my hubby.” She said, and then Aya looked at her. “Are you still in contract?” Aya asked and her boss giggled. “No silly. After our contract was done and he disappeared without a trace that is when I realized that I have fallen in love with him. Then a few years later, we saw each other again and that is when we started dating for real and got married.” Her boss told her. “How is that even possible? Is he still being hired as someone else’s husband?” “Nope. He is my real husband now; mine only. I don’t know the details but they have their own contract in the company. I never dared to ask since it was clearly stated in the contract that asking a question and digging into the husband’s real identity is strictly prohibited.”   Aya remembered that it was mentioned when the contract was explained to her. “I am telling you Aya, they are so professional that even you would believe that he is really your husband and he’s head over heels in love with you. You know how those oppas in kdramas make us swoon on how they treat their ladies, that’s an understatement when it comes to your hired husband.” Her boss explained and Aya cannot help but blush.   She loves watching kdramas and cdramas, and she enjoys how the male protagonist shows how much he loves the female protagonist that she sometimes dreamed of experiencing. She’s not totally a hard, frozen, and emotionless b***h. She’s just good at concealing her feelings. “I don’t need a kdrama-like scheme. I just want it to look so real, and get out of a puddle of a problem I am in.” Aya said and her boss frowned. “I hope whoever husband is assigned to you, you’d get the ride of your life. I hope he can thaw your frozen heart and made you wet all over.” Her boss teased, making Aya turn red in embarrassment. “Ashley!” Aya exclaimed her boss’ first name.   Her boss laughed at her making Aya scowled and pout at the same time.
