“Believe me Erin, this is real,” usal ni Carter. “At first, I might not seem logical or sincere, pero noong kinikilala na kita, I’m just amazed. I want to get to know you better. Please, let me do that.”
Napailing si Erin. “How can I even trust you, Carter?” singhap nito. She was in her pajamas. But even so, she looked beautiful to him. Not in a way that was like others, but there was something special about her that made him want to gae at her even for a whole day. Maybe he’s smitten? Who knows. But it’s a good feeling. Something he’s never had in a long while now.
And he wanted to dive more about these feelings. He’s just open to the beautiful possibility infront of him. And it might have started like fun, for him remembering about Matt’s challenge, but it is way more than that now. He genuinely likes being around her.
“Please,” it was just natural but he grabbed her hand, feeling her warmth around his palm. He was happy she did not shove it away, na hindi nito pinalis ang kamay niya. He saw that she was enjoying it too, how her hands molded into him.
“Listen, Carter. The moment that you’ll ruin my life. Sobra pa sa isang blog post ang ikakasira mo.” It sounded like a threat but it was sweet at the same time.
He chuckled. “I know, you can have me to devour and ruin in the form you want.”
A slight smile formed around her lips. She chuckled a bit. “Arent you afraid? You’re really crazy.”
“I’m crazy for you,” he aired. Eyeing her deeply. She inhaled a bit, looking at him deeply, and then he saw her resignation.
“Okay, okay,” she aired. “Just one date, tomorrow. An hour earlier, if okay?”
“O-okay,” he stepped back, eyeing her, now with a glazened fire in his eyes. He did a happy dance in front of her, and she can’t stop but chuckle when he did that. Everything seemed light and the ambiance was really nice that night, he was so happy and there was a glow in that night.
The next day, he made sure he was the most handsome. Kahit ang team niya ay nalito dahil wala naman daw siyang naka scheduled na shooting, but he just smiled and told the team na may mahalagang meeting siya kaya’t nagpaayos siya.
He wore a formal suit, with his hair glazed on. He’s like a star, napapatingin sa kaniya ang tao na nakasabayan niya sa elevator papunta kay Erin. But he just smiled. He whistled.
Just whistling happily in the corridor.
He cant contain his happiness. And finally, one knock and the door opened. She was wearing a red dress that has fitted the curve of her body, just enough to tease but just enough to look cute as well. She was like an angel and a vixen at the same time.
And she was wearing a stiletto and a heart pendant. She looked lovely and adorable. If only he can, he would have hugged her and kissed her again. But he controlled himself. He can also see the amazement and the admiration in her eyes.
Her reaction made him more confident, made him estatic.
Inabot niya ang palad at balikat para abutin nito. And they strode together in the hallway.
“Are you excited?” he asked her.
“I’m nervous,” she said. “You know? Lalabas tayo. People will see me around you. What if they asked who am I?”
“Then as you are, you’re Erin Medina, kapatid ng pintor. That’s it. Nobody knows that you’re the gossip writer, right?”
“Only a very few people,” she aired.
“Everything will be alright, I’m with you.”
She smiled, “you are really crazy,” napailing ito. “There’s an evil plan underneath this right?”
“Well, if the evil plan is to make you mine, then yes, that’s my evil plan.”
Napakurap ito, she rolled her out again and they both chuckled in mirth. Next thing they know, they were jiving and talking in his car. Everything seemed natural and effortless.
And then they were at the restaurant. Some people started to look curiously at them, some whispered in hush tones. Ah, probably they must be thinking, Carter’s new flame, a new bed mate perhaps. But they made their way in one of the tables.
“See?” she almost whispered. “Everyone’s kinda looking at us.”
“Just chill okay, trust me,” he smiled and briefly ay inabot niya ang palad nito. Warm current crept through his system. They were nice to the touch, she has soft hands.
He has held many hands and bodies before, but the warmth this one was giving him, even so in a very simple moment spelled a big difference. He wanted to stay in those hands, to feel her more. If only. But he realized this warmth, the physical was not the only thing he wanted. He wanted to genuinely listen to her. Know more about her.
Her stories, whatever makes her cry, what she has been through, what makes her happy…what makes her giggle and laugh.
He wanted her to feel more at ease with him. He wanted her to be comfortable and to tell him about her world.
They talked in a fascinating way, with some banter, but with a surprising knowledge of each others likes and dislikes every moment. He can feel that this will gonna be a good night. A great night.
When the dinner finished, they stayed a bit to chill more. Then did a night drive along the city. When they reached a hill peak, he stopped the car and they jumped out. What embraced their eyes are a beautiful series of night lights spanning the whole city. It was so beautiful and the breeze was cold.
“I know this is too fast, but I want you to be my girlfriend.” He aired with certainty.
“That indeed is fast,” she smiled, glancing at him. “Pano kung gusto ko pang magpakipot?” she twitched her lips.
“Oh,” he slowly turned and walked more closely towards her. He circled his arms around her, locking her in an embrace.
“I’m sorry, but that’s a non-negotiable,” he aired.
“A non-negotiable?” she raised her one eyebrow.
“Yes,” he inched forward, lowering his head towards Erin. He can smell her sweet scent. He wanted her so bad, so so bad. When finally, their lips are locked, he nibbled her softly, making her moan softly against his mouth. He made a victorious smile.
