Chelsie

She blinked twice, feeling that molten hot sensation that just suddenly erupted from her core. It was so fast, it came like a lightning to her senses. But that one damp kiss, a bit prolongated, has caught her breath and heart in a hitch.

“I-I’m sorry,” apuhap nito, now realizing the weight of what he has done. Both of them touching their lips briefly, in awe and in sudden realization.

Hindi siya nakasagot, dahilan para mas lumabas ang pag-aalala sa hitsura ng lalaki. “Honestly, that’s a mistake,” he aired.

Hindi niya alam kung anong mararamdaman. What was she thinking? Of course, it was a mistake. But she didn’t comprehend why he would air it so openly, just after that. She knew from her heart, seconds before when their lips touched how his eyes looked at her. That was surely a genuine look.

But hearing him, for him to say that it was a mistake. She didn’t know why it broke her heart. Maybe what she answered was real. She wanted to fall in love, if it was her last moments in life. But it was only when she was with Matt that those emotions will heighten.

What was it like? Maybe she’s in the middle of it all, this hurricane of emotions…making her excited, making her scared, but it was a ride she was willing to accept. But what was she thinking? Has she completely lost her mind?

Of course, this is Matt Vallejo. And she completely forgot he was hogging another female the last day. How insane is she?

She felt a painful kick from her inner system. She stood up, not able to control the whirring hurricane of guilt, pain and stupidity oozing inside her.

“Of course, it was a mistake!” hindi niya rin maintidihan kung bakit ganoon ang tono at boses niya.She was also confused and shocked with herself, which in turn, turned into a deep regret and embarrassment.

Paano niya nagawang sigawan si Matt? It was horrible. She has to turn away her face, her back, and even her feet away from the fire. Sa sobrang pagkalito at pagkapahiya ay napatakbo siya palayo dito. She ran fast, far, far away from him.

“Chelsie” tawag ng buong boses nito.

Madali lang siya nitong naabutan, maliksi ito at madali din nitong nakuha ang braso niya. He held her, stopping her from taking one more step.

“Please,” napapiyok ito, “I’m really sorry. Lumingon ka sa ‘kin.”

She tried not to, but his hands held her arm firmly but gently, nudging her to face him.

When finally she did, slowly, her eyes turned to him. He looked so sincere. She can still outline the shadow of his face. It felt like his eyes misted.

“I’m really sorry, Chelsie.”

“B-but, but…” her voice croaked. She didn’t know how to coin her emotions or how to make him understand. “You didn’t have to be sorry, you know.”

“What do you mean?” his eyes blinked, searching in her eyes.

“Chelsie?” untag nito, ng hindi pa siya nagsasalita.

“T-that was my first kiss, I know dampi lang iyon,” she can feel the salty tang beside her lips and she didn’t realize there was a silent tear that has streamed down her eyes.

“I know it was nothing for you, but for me, that was important.” Pagpapatuloy niya. She blinked her eyes too.

“I know, that’s why I’m sorry. It must have not been me. I ruined it for you, it must be for someone special. I took that moment, which is supposed to be something special, away from you. And I regret that.”

“But you don’t have to regret, hearing that, para bang…para bang nandidiri ka sa ‘kin.”

“Never!” halos nagulat rin si Matt sa nasambit niya. “Oh, Chelsie, why would you say that? Y-you’re just so precious, your so sweet, so mature, and so lovely…any guy would have taken you and would die to do it. But for me to take that away from you, I feel the greatest remorse. You deserve to be loved, like for a lifetime.”

“I wanted to be loved, to be kissed, caressed, hell I’m an adult! I just want to experience things, a-and…” her voice croaked, and she didn’t know why, and she know she’ll regret it in her life, but she just voiced out, “and I want it to be with you, Matt.”

Matt looked at her blinking profusely… “Chelsie…”

Nababaliw na ata siya, but there was suddenly this fervor awakened inside her, a scorching need for touch.

It was making her crazy, it was making her feel all those kind of emotions. She must be mad, she must be out of her mind, but she continued. “I want you,” she aired.

Matt looked at her so deeply. “If I can, I would just snacth you in my arms right now Chelsie, and kiss you again. I would. I really do, I want you, somethings telling me that I want you. But I can’t.”

Her eyes blinked, unbelieving at what she just heard, and willing for herself to be buried in earth right now sa sobrang pagkapahiya. He can’t. He just won’t. And that spells a lot. She just ruined her life, and she has lost this job!

“I-I’m really sorry,” she fought back the tears aiming to fall again. “I was just so stressed,” napalayo siya dito.

Timing naman at may namataan siyang umiilaw sa di-kalayuan. The sound seemed like a boat was approaching, it whirred more loudly every passing second. She felt so relieved.

“Si Manong,” she spoke, and ran towards the shore. Feeling niya maiiyak siya sa sobrang saya dahil sa wakas ay andito na ang sundo nila.

She can feel Matt also in her back. It seemed that he was about to say something to her but she just kept her back at him. Nang dumaong na ang Bangka ay lubos na nag sorry at nagpaliwanag ang asawa ni Heidi. Kelangan pa kasi daw na ayusin ang boat at natagalan din daw ito sa ospital.

Niligpit na nila ang gamit, at nasa loob na sila ng boat. Hindi sila nag i-imikan ni Matt. Hindi niya lubos na mabuka ang labi niya. Her heart felt very heavy. This night she received her first kiss, and even though it was short, it felt like the whole world to her. But now, it felt like it was a joke.

Like a nightmare. Hanggang sa makarating sila sa bahay ay wala pa rin silang imikan ni Matt. Hapung hapo at pagod siya na napadampa sa kama niya. She was thinking deeply of what to do.
