“He wouldn’t?” I repeated just in case I heard wrong. But Nathan nodded in affirmation.
“If he is not able to help us, then why do you want to meet with him?” I asked, still unsure of what his intentions were.
“He would not be open to helping us, especially if we didn’t have anything to offer him in return. It doesn’t mean we shouldn’t try,” he explained.
“Oh,” I managed to say.
