My heart shrunk in my chest. Danny’s favorite shoe. “It’s Danny’s,” I whispered as tears gathered in my eyes.
Nathan tried to hold my hand, but I snatched it away. Maybe If I hadn’t gotten myself poisoned, maybe we would have gone earlier and saved my kids.
